Sturgeon was a superb speaker but was very much a career politician. It felt like SHE was the SNP. Yousaf came across as a nice guy, but I felt he lacked the backing of his party and the papers tore him to shreds. A lot of public opinion is skewed by the media. Milliband could have been a fantastic PM for this country but he was derided as being weird and not being able to eat a bacon roll properly. Absolutely pathetic. Reply |

So far he’s been able to distance himself from everything but it’ll eventually catch up on him. He’s been at the centre of the party for years but apparently didn’t know anything about the accounts, the sex scandals, the child abuse scandals and he supported the Gender Recognition Reform Bill. Basically he thought it was okay for 16 years to self determine their sexuality without any requirement for parents to be involved. He also pushed through the ferry deal without the normal financial safeguards in place. Plus his performance as Education secretary was nothing short of terrible. Under Swinney the attainment gap grew, he introduced the ‘curriculum for excellence’ which basically over complicated and increased the workload of teachers, made a complete balls up of the COVID exam years and his idea to fix it was to stop comparing ourselves internationally so the falling standards couldn’t be tracked as easily. Scotland being such a left wing country makes it difficult for any right winged party to have any footing here and I think that’s what keeping SNP high in the polls. Labour are a joke and the video of Sarwar saying he wants Pakistani and South Asians to take over so I just can’t see them having any real support outwith their membership COYP Reply |

That benefits the SNP right now, because despite having been in power for 16 years, and all the opportunities for incompetence that brings, a lot of people still perceive them as less incompetent than the rest, partly because the SNP are not tainted by decisions made in Westminster That`s a reflection on the state of the others more than it is the SNP. “The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.” Post Edited (Sat 18 Apr 07:58) Reply |
