I believe overnight they’ve destroyed another wildberries warehouse (which is the Russian equivalent to EBay-I had to google it), a couple of oil refineries and an airbase. I don’t know anything about casualties but it’s safe to assume there will be civilian casualties. I think what the Ukrainians have done very well is to adapt with new technologies. They’ve created cheap hardware that can cause a lot of damage from range. They dont have the economy or the people power to go punch for punch with a country the size of Russia so they have adapted very well. It does also have me thinking that we may be seeing an end to large carrier groups, large, expensive and complicated hardware thats difficult to replace and costly to maintain. Funnily enough that was also one of the Allied keys to victory in WW2 so it could also be a lesson we’ve forgot when looking at the American military. COYP Reply |

Would definitely not have went into the Baltics and definitely would not have went into Poland. Just like he said he wouldn`t go into Georgia....or Donbass....or Crimea.....or Ukraine.... Its tuff being a Par but we love it! Reply |

Author: Paralex Date: Mon 3rd Aug 2026. 22:25 There were a couple of high class looking Russian ladies talking to the BBC reporter in Moscow, the other day and they were so indignant that a bomb had gone off in a Moscow restaurant. As if this was some kind of outrage on the helpless and blameless Moscovite aristocracy. Were they totally ignorant about the random bombing of Kiev, or are they so self centred they couldn`t care less about Ukrainian civillians. Post Edited (Mon 03 Aug 22:27) Reply |

Author: hurricane_jimmy Date: Tue 4th Aug 2026. 00:41 If Zelensky is a grifter, then what exactly would that make Putin? 🤣 A cursory glance at Poland`s economic statistics since 1991 compared to Russia`s in the same time period really makes for stark reading. Russia has a population 3.5x bigger, yet the economy is only about double the size and Poland has 50% higher GDP per capita. Texas has a bigger economy than Russia with about 20% of the population. Now consider the vast natural resources that Russia has...where exactly has that money gone over the last 35 years do you reckon? As for Ukraine being "cooked" without external financial aid... pretty sure many would have said the same about the UK after the fall of France... Reply |

Putin could have backed down many times but has chosen not to as he needs.to.save face. This is the problem with the world - little men picking fights and being too embarrassed to accept defeat. It`s fine though as they`re not the ones getting killed. It`s pathetic. Reply |

| 13. Author: hurricane_jimmy Date: Tue 4th Aug 2026. 15:45 DW, have you spent much time with Russians? I`ve encountered many in Hong Kong, Japan, Sweden and now in Czechia. Statements like these are incredibly common: "The Baltic states are a joke" "Zelensky is a coke addict" "Ukrainians are Nazi fascists" " I can`t get over the fact that some genuinely believe this when Zelensky is a natively Russian-speaking Jew. And the fact that Moscow and St Petersburg were both swamps when Kyiv was already a thriving city. But of course "Ukrainians are just Russians with accents"... Honestly, the Russians have an Imperial hangover that makes that of English look pitiful. Putin apologists like yourself and Oz are genuinely deluded and it`s hilarious to watch you avoid points that explicitly contradict your narrative, case and point being the Russian economy that I mentioned a post or two ago. Maybe research a bit more or study some history courses rather than indulging in conjecture? Reply |

The guys obviously not perfect but I think he’s done everything he can for Ukraine since the war started. Has he begged borrowed and stole? Absolutely he has but he had to. If he didn’t, Ukraine might be western Russia. Ultimately I don’t think he’ll be in post much past the war but I don’t think being president of Ukraine despite the country is his goal. He seems to have made a couple of wrong moves but I genuinely don’t believe anyone in the world can hand on heart say they’d have done a better job than him. Apart from anything else, by the end of this war-the west should have learnt a lot from it. As will have the Russians but the Russians have paid for that experience in blood. COYP Reply |
