The longest ballot paper in British electoral history at 90cm - about 3ft long - to choose their candidate and cast their vote.

Would love Farage to lose this

The stage is going to be overcrowded when they announce the result - assuming they all turn up.

What an utter farce.

Farage tried to do a Tubby Fox and he may well be doing a Rodney Trotter.

"Alan. When you say you’ve accepted my letter of resignation, what exactly do you mean?"

Was just thinking .. how on earth are the voters going to get the 3 foot long ballot paper through the wee slit on the box ??

I`m hoping Count Binface just edges it from Nick the Incredible Flying Brick.

Stinking hot today so Farage might actually welcome it if a McFlurry is thrown at him this time.

Turnout will be under 50%, Farage will storm to victory and claim he has a “mandate” to be the next PM and tomorrow the Independent Committee will alert him they are reopening the investigation into his finances……..

Absolutely farcical.

Turnout confirmed at 44% and Farage claiming a “storming victory” but wont appear the declaration due to a “credible threat” made to disrupt it…..was that not what the £5m was for?

One of the candidates got 7 votes. I`m not sure all of their own family voted for them.

To be honest, if I was asked to vote between Farage and Coco the Clown, my money would have been on the latter doing something more constructive than Farage. Well done to the voters who correctly see this as a waste of taxpayers money and achieving absolutely nothing.

Farage didn`t attend the declaration because, he said, Essex police told him there was a risk to his security, which they denied. And wasn`t the £5m he received supposed to be to help him pay for personal security for the rest of his life? (I wonder how that was calculated?)

There was going to be an organised disruption from the other candidates. I`m not quite sure how that was going to manifest itself but some form of political stunt that would follow Farage for the rest of his political career.

He`s only been elected 5 minutes and already making excuses not to be in Clacton. Complete cunt.

On reflection, doesn`t it seem odd that you can stand for election without having to show your face? What if a candidate had decided to wear a balaclava only.perforated with eyeholes throughout the campaign?

If you think that is bad don’t vote for them. There are rules on face covering in the parliament but apparently but they can’t apply until you are physically in the parliament.

Seems bonza to me.

Labour and the Tories dropped the ball big time. They should have stood against him. Instead they’ve made politics in the UK even more farcical.
