Topic: Nepal disaster
1. Author: OzPar Date: Thu 27th Aug 2026. 00:42 Some horrendous images are coming through from Nepal, where flash flooding and mudslides are destroying large swathes of land and property. Many hundreds, likely thousands, will have died in these incidents. The videos show how difficult, indeed hopeless, it would have been for people to try to escape. The floods are thought to have been triggered by an ice-rock avalanche from a glacier that caused a downstream surge. One video shows the border post between Nepal and China—a large, solid construction—being completely overwhelmed by the scale and force of the flood surge. Reply

3. Author: BouncyPar Date: Thu 27th Aug 2026. 10:40 One of the videos shows the border crossing, and surrounding buildings. The main building must be 8 or 10 stories tall, and the flood surge pours over it as if it was nothing more than than a bump in the path of the water. I wouldn`t be surprised if the death toll rose considerably when rescuers are able to explore up the gorge, and what they may find where villages once stood is terrifying. Reply

How easy the water and ice just wipes everything out is mind boggling. Mother nature really id a scary force that cant be stopped. Reply
