A day like yesterday just emphasises for me the political difference between Scotland and England and the disadvantage of being in a union with it. Farage seems confident his support in Scotland is growing and proportional representation in the Holyrood election will help his party win seats, but no right wing party has won an election here for 70-odd years so I think his success will be limited. The thought of Farage as PM is scary but then so was the thought of Trump as POTUS. Reply |

However, the solution isn`t voting for idiots like Farage`s lot. They`ll talk a good game but deliver NOTHING. Take a look at their pledges on immigration and you`ll notice two things: 1. Simple language with no detail on HOW they`ll achieve the pledges 2. Contradictions (we`ll detain all illegal immigrants and also stop them claiming benefits. How can someone detained claim benefits?! They won`t allow people in foriegners in to work except in Health but then say they`d apply extra tax on foreign workers apart from health. So additional tax on people they`re not allowing in?). Reply |
23. Author: wee eck Date: Sat 3rd May 2025. 12:42 Were the folk voting for Reform yesterday the same ones who voted for Brexit and are unhappy with the outcome? Of course Farage says if he`d been in charge he`d have negotiated a better deal with the EU. Reply |

I genuinely don`t know who I`ll vote for in the Scottish elections as they`re all bloody awful. I`m hoping we might get a decent independent in Dunfermline. Maybe one that will fight for progress in Dunfermline beyond house building and warehouses. Reply |
25. Author: The One Who Knocks Date: Sat 3rd May 2025. 14:18 So if you do oppose that type of migration who do you vote for Jake? What are the solutions? I`ll never vote for Reform as they won`t press my interests as a working man and immigration isn`t near the top of my concerns. I do appreciate though that living in Scotland my community isn`t under the same pressure from immigration that parts of England are. Wee Eck, more than a third of Scots voted for Brexit, that`s more than voted for the SNP at the last election. Plenty of Scots have a right of centre leaning, either economically or socially. And although my eyes were open They just might as well be closed Reply |

27. Author: wee eck Date: Sat 3rd May 2025. 15:04 TOWK, more than a third isn`t a majority and, as I said, no right-leaning party has won an election here since the 1950s. I believe Reform favour proportional representation but that may change now if they sense blood under FPTP! Reply |
28. Author: jake89 Date: Sat 3rd May 2025. 15:32 The One Who Knocks, Sat 3 May 14:18 I don`t oppose migration where it`s legitimate (coming to work or escaping war). The issues are well reported but my point would be it`s VERY difficult to resolve properly and what Reform propose makes little sense and is overly simplistic. "Who do you vote for" is THE question. As I said, it`s a real struggle. In the last election I went Labour, which I now regret given how Downie has been voting. But what`s the alternative? SNP? Lib Dem? It`s worse for the Scottish elections. Reply |

Another 300 young 18-30 year old men were welcome into Britain from their sea crossing today….How much does that add onto our taxes? Argue that but I stand by Starmer woman sidekick is a wee skanky Ned…she is vile and just as bad as that weirdo Starmer. Mon the Pars! Reply |
