Iran have now fired at Doha where there are a number of US air bases.

Seems that all the missiles were intercepted. Little if to no damage and no casualties. Iran are spinning it to their own people as a victorious strike so if that`s what they need to say hopefully the US allows them to have this and the situation can deescalate.

And although my eyes were open

Trump isn’t going to de-escalate this. This will allow him to now go for the Ayatollah.

Trump appears to deescalate this by announcing a ceasefire between Israel and Iran.

No, I wouldn`t say brilliant, but I would say scrupulous.

Instead of blindly accepting what you are being told by your government and your media, exercise due diligence and independently verify information before accepting it as fact.

You don’t know what to believe now in this mess. Israel claiming Iran had fired missiles and will now retaliate, Iran have denied this categorically stating they haven’t fired any.

Are Israel just doing as they please with the backing of the US?

Or did Iran really break a quick fix ceasefire after a couple of hours?

Either way, big Donald has fixed sweet f**k all by the looks of it.

He doesn`t need to fix it, he just needs to manage the news cycle.

I think the media are a lot to blame in all this awful mess. He`s just needs to generate so much chaos continually and keep moving onto the next mess. And they continually fall for it.

The likes of Kuenssberg is doing none of us any favours saying that politics is more important that anything. It avoids proper scrutiny in terms of facts in many cases in my opinion.

Unfortunately the lack of a credible opposition in the US is generating massive issues right around the globe.

^^^ Well said Ipswich

Can I add that Western leaders are equally to blame - None ever seem to want to challenge or criticise Trump.

Trump does NOT fix things, he breaks things and manages the media.

If we are using the Dow Jones average as a barometer for the health of the US economy (which we shouldn`t be) then it was higher on Biden`s last day in office than it is today. Let`s just see if the US can avoid slipping into a recession before the end of the summer. I hope it does as it`ll be detrimental to me and most folks reading this if so but I have my doubts.
