Her speech sounded very much like the Conservatives when they came into power just before the Austerity budget...

Wonder what sacrifices our MP`S are making?🤔💰💰💰

Well, they`re all high tax earners for a start. Obviously it won`t impact them really.

We will remove the winter fuel allowance

You can have it back as we have brought much more stability and can afford to do so

We will increase taxes as it is much worse than we thought 15 months after we got access to the books

What an absolute mess that assumes we are fools.

How she thought increasing employers` NIC would help to boost the economy is a complete mystery.

She`s not an economist. This is the problem - letting people have no clue about their remit make decisions.

Doesn`t she have economic advisers - or even political advisers? The naivety of this Labour government has been breathtaking!

Her CV suggested otherwise....

It looks like the nickname should have been Rachel From Not Taking Account.

Today appears to be less rolling the pitch and more dig your own grave.

They all have advisors but they don`t have to listen to them. Remember - the same civil servants advise whoever is in government. They exist to serve the government of the moment. Do you think a policy officer told Truss what to do? These guys are walking egos.

At least an Income Tax rise wont affect us up here in the pay packet, but if she raises NI for employees then will take a double hit both in the payslip and on the shelves.

The biggest conmen out there though are the supermarkets - prices been getting bumped up big time yet again. £16 spent on 6 basic items the other day in Morrisons…..scandalous

I thought Special Advisors (SPADs) were party employees rather than civil servants, jake?

SpAds and impartial civil servants are different.

The SpAds are politically appointed.

Must give rise to some interesting discussions.....

Its Simples .. If you read and believe the Tory Press then we are doomed
Labour have a huge hole to fix left by the previous incumbent
The Tory`s would never raise tax as it would hurt them more than me and you
If raising tax helps to fix the Tory fek up then so be it

We are forever shaped by the Children we once were

Yep, SpAds are down to them. It`s luck of the draw though.

The changes WILL affect Scotland as any shortfall needs made up. High earners are currently taxed slightly more in Scotland but that pays for those free bus passes etc (bloody Buspasspar 😉)
