A lot of things just seemed to come together at the same time

A higher and more consistant press than we have seen very often.
Variation of play from playing out to going long
Variation of free kick and corners - twice in a row, everyone expected the free kick long into the box, but was played wide left, corner taken short, then the next to back post

(WHAT A DIFFERENCE when a corner actually goes over the first defender - annoys the hell out of me when a corner is easily cleared by the first guy)

I missed the game last night. Can anyone tell me if Oluwayemi made any difference to the performance?

I feel every time he has played he has improved the team by getting us to play further up the Park. He played against Ayr, East Fife, Raith and Falkirk and we were much improved in all these games.

I think the defence has much more confidence in him.

Never had many saves to make but dealt with everything he needed too. One major difference between the 2 is his movement off the line when the ball comes over the top. Dealt with a few of these last night that Memhet wouldn’t have came out for. Definitely takes pressure off the defenders a bit.

No doubt with his experience and his confidence to come out that over the course of the season he might have 1 or 2 mistakes in him but what player doesn’t!

Definitely improves us.

He certainly exudes confidence which helps the team but, like any keeper, he can make misjudgements. I thought he was partly responsible for Falkirk`s second goal on Saturday by deciding to play the ball short to Hammy and then parrying the subsequent shot back into the box. The recent improvement in performances isn`t down to one player but he has helped.

What a difference, starting aggressively and on the front foot from the first whistle like the Raith game.

Won`t see Livvy lose one goal, let alone two, very often from setpieces so much credit due there as well.

I`m reading a comment from Parsweep, further up the thread where he, and many others before him, blames the manager for the team not going all out attack from the start, as if Jas. McPake had told them to play safe for the first half hour. I very much doubt that`s the way it works. Even if you did have the aim to be on the attack from the off, you can only perform as the opposition allows. I`m sure the manager would be delighted if his team was able to dominate the opposition for 90 minutes but that rarely happens. Usually success is down to opposition mistakes, moments of brilliance, and the ability to know when to go all out attack. The players have much more control of the performance than the manager and I very much doubt that James McPake has set the team out to play dull football.

I`ll hold my hands up and say I wasn`t convinced by the starting line up, but was pleased to see Mebude starting as he looks like a box of tricks who can do something unexpected. I hope he`s allowed to keep running 1 on 1 at fullbacks.

The high press was great to see. It looked like we played 4-2-3-1 but when Livi were trying to play out from the back it was more like 4-2-4. Will be interesting to see against a team that goes longer.

It would be good if we could get Mebude on a longer deal as he is one who I think you could get a decent fee for down the line?
I can understand the one year deal as there was obvious uncertainty after the bad crash and how he would recover.I suppose we can`t over commit with a takeover looming and whilst in a precarious position too so it`s a tricky one. It`s possible he only wanted a year too.
Hopefully he continues to improve and does the business for us in the short term anyway.

I would imagine he thinks he could do better than the Scottish Championship once he proves his fitness.

Last week the .net opinion was he only signed for us as Livi & Raith didn’t want him 😂

Oluwayemi - Has a right peg that doubles as a 5-Iron.

His kick-outs have the same trajectory as a golf shot, it bullets out from his boot & ascends at a steady angle before arcing onto a soft landing.

Its a thing of beauty.....

I love it when we go sell Kevin Nisbet,
He's gonna pay for everyone this season.

I was surprised Livi kept trying to play through our press instead of going long at least some of the time.

I can`t understand why teams stick slavishly to a certain way of playing and don`t mix things up. Surely you`d want to keep the opposition guessing so they can`t settle into a way of counteracting it?

I reckon he could clear the opposite stand kicking from his hands from his own 18 yard box....get the social media folk on it as a challenge and film it.

What length of deal is Sam Young on? Whatever it is, we should be looking to extend it.

The way we start games is absolutely on the manager
