resigned from Motherwell saying family is being abused at matches etc and no longer want to attend games.

Some football fans really are scumbags.

There is absolutely no way, that any
manager should be abused in such a
disgusting way.

Seems to happening more and more in football now. Managers players and referees. No one should go to work and be abused along with their family. There’s no excuse for it at all.

Got to applaud him taking the stance he has.

His family taking any form of abuse at a game just isn’t acceptable.

Joe Chalmers family has made similar accusations to pars fans - which I just can’t understand.

Boo anything you want to do with the pitch. Even shout abuse towards the pitch but families in the stand shouldn’t under any circumstances have to go through that

After what happened to Ross McArthur I don`t think we should be taking the moral high ground on this.

Hopefully Motherwell ban the culprits for life. Fair enough throw some angry shade towards the dugout/players, but don’t get personal, and certainly don’t abuse the guys family who are sitting in the stands. Disgusting behaviour.

Football fans can be such a self entitled bunch.

Many cases involving our fans too, remember Ryan Williamson`s family getting dogs abuse, then some people on this forum trying to justify it. Beggars belief, here was an honest pro who I`m sure knew only too well that his time (because of terrible injuries at a crucial age)was up, his dreams etc. and then we have some (and not young either) thinking it would be a bright idea to scream this.

Ross McArthur wife and daughter getting abused in the main stand at...Alloa! By our fans.

Who does this? These are not kids

Good on Kettle well.

It seems to be rife at every level. Some of the abuse directed at Peter Pawlett at Meadowbank a couple of weeks ago was beyond embarrassing. Banter is one thing, but this-- - - !

Individual idiots that maybe support our club do not speak for me and I would guess the majority of Dunfermline supporters, so there is no collective `we` in taking moral high grounds or not

Well done to Stuart Kettlewell for highlighting these cowardly imbeciles and showing them that there is more important things than a game of football

Remember seeing the Young brothers` mum & dad at a lot of games when they played for us and always made me think how hard it must be having a double chance of potentially having to sit through folk giving your boy(s) stick.

Been a few times when i've had a hunch that someone siting close by has been a relative of one of the players, only ever seen it kick off once and that was with a punter and Scott Muirhead's sister or girlfriend.

Do players get comp tickets for away games ?

Got to say some of the abuse being hurled at our players from our fans on Saturday at Airdrie was pure poison. I was left questioning if any aspect of following football was worth it just to listen to the bile when it goes wrong. God help the players who are having to try lift themselves knowing the wrath that a mistake brings 😬

The treatment levelled out for Williamson’s girlfriend and family was shocking. The young lads involved will now hopefully be older, wiser and man enough now to admit they got it badly wrong, but I won’t hold my breath.
Same with the gent having an outrageous go at Mehmet after our 0-5 to Morton, who clearly could have been identified by ground staff. I think that guy needs help.
Or even to the people in the main stand outlined by Bert Paton where he stated “he had never seen anything like it in football”, after the Falkirk reverse.
Some people are shameless and it IS getting worse. So glad I sit with a decent level headed group of people in the North West, where we get upset about losing but deal with it as it should be. A game of football.

Absolutely disgraceful and disgusting behaviour from fans who seem to think paying their money is an excuse. Good on him.

Lesson for fans of all clubs.

Predictably perhaps, Brown, McGlynn and Martindale are all being quoted as possible candidates to replace Stuart Kettlewell.

At the school gates? What sort of morons would do that. To be honest, a professional sportsman could probably absolutely wreck any average guy in a scrap, they would be well within their rights to at times. These people are cowards, you can bet they would be running off to clipe to anyone who will listen if they do get some back.

When you think about it, we as a club have suffered quite a bit because of this type of thing, we lost Ross McArthur, we lost the German investors, let`s hope we don`t lose any more

I was about to write the same. Can you imagine how he felt. Happy time to speak to your child you haven’t seen all day. In front of other parents that you have a blether with, then a Moron turns up. For me that is unimaginable.
