Leeds United website states he has joined on a permanent deal. It doesn`t for how long though.

Get him on a 10 year contract.
£4m release clause.

He reminds me of Van Dijk at Celtic in terms of levels (ie: playing well below his capability).

Barely breaking sweat and his stride looks like he is jogging whilst others are at full tilt.

I`m surprised JC-M didn`t attract attention from bigger clubs. He`s been capped at Scotland under-19 and under-21 level so it`s not as if he`s been totally below the radar.

Mullen is a fantastic talent clearly. Never have I been excited to see a CB until now. Reminds you slightly of the young Sol Bamba that we had back in the day. Clearly bound for a higher level.

He doesn’t remind you of Sol. Sol was athletic and had a presence, but didn’t have the composure of young JCM

Lucho is Jolly Jim McLean reborn. 😀

I`d be surprised if anyone would argue with the sponsor`s choice of Chris Kane yesterday, but Jeremiah Chilokoa-Mullen put in another assured performance yesterday, even without Bene`s guidance when our skipper was red carded.

As I understand it, JCM is our player until the end of the season. We paid Leeds a fee for him, and we have first dibs if we want to extend his contract. I`ve seen enough to suggest we should be offering him a new deal NOW! I wouldn`t be at all surprised if other clubs are watching him and liking what they see. If we wait until the end of the season, JCM`s agent could be sitting with a pile of offers from other clubs, which we might not be able to match, so he leaves and we get nothing.

If we extend his deal now and he wants to go to a bigger club, we`ll at least get a nice fat fee. 🙂

I agree we should be trying to sign JCM on a longer deal but I thought he was less assured than usual yesterday.

Don`t be so negative Eck, he was still way better than most!

He has been outstanding so it was a high bar I was judging him by. I didn`t think he was as dominant in the air and misplaced a few passes yesterday. He also sclaffed a clearance for a corner when we were under the cosh towards the end I think. He may have to take charge of the defence next weekend if Bene is suspended and he may revel in that.

Mullen is a player that I`d be throwing a 3yr deal at.

I`d try and offer him a deal although I don`t think he will be in a pars shirt first game of the next league campaign. Although we can live in hope.

c'mon the pars

I thought this as well, probably the first time I’ve seen him looking a bit nervy. Been really good though since we got him.

He and Fogarty might make a good partnership with Bene suspended.

I know he was beaten by a cross but Tobi kept us in the game in the first half.

It’s easy to get a bit anxious when you are not sure of your footing.
I doubt he will be here next season. He will likely get a better offer elsewhere

Why pay a fee and not offer him a longer contract ?

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

I hope with Mullen the option we have can be activated before anyone else can sign him. At then at least we’ll recoup a fee if he wants to go.

You could see he is levels above within 15mins of his debut.

Yeah, I`m assuming (hoping) it`s an extension the club can automatically trigger as long as we stay up. Given we gave Young and Bray long term deals, I`d imagine that a 3 year (or even longer) deal will be there as long as we avoid relegation.
