The jump and header from Comrie (I think it was) to get the ball forward to Kane for the 2nd goal was superb.

^^^^^ this totally! Both the delivery and the execution absolutely brilliant. The Morton player falling in front of his team mate helped not a little as well.

Lovely wee bit of skill on the touchline from Steven`s prior to the first goal.

Red card looked harsh but equally i reckon plenty referees would have given a foul against Kane for our second goal

It`s funny how perceptions change after seeing the highlights.

Yesterday I thought the Morton player was offside prior to Bene tackling him, today I`m thinking he was onside although it`s difficult to be conclusive. Bene did seem to play the ball though.

I thought Kane had fouled the defender prior to his second goal but the highlights suggest he just out-muscled him. Comrie did well to direct his header towards him as said above.

It`s a shame we no longer have the `camera in the net` facility. It would have been good to see our first goal from that angle and also the Morton goal.

Great work by McCann for the first goal.
Such a difference Kane makes to use when he plays, that 2nd goal is brilliant.
We also were a bit more direct yesterday, particularly in the second half which was a vast improvement on what’s been served up recently.

The key to the second goal was that as soon as the ball looped up, Kane was watching where it was going, spotted Comrie had a chance of winning it and was on his bike. It`s the little things like the anticipation there and the little bit of movement for the first which makes him a stand out at this level. Like wee eck I`m a bit disappointed we don`t have the Go Pro in the goals any more as I`d like to see the first again. From in the Norrie I wasn`t quite sure how it ended in, as it seemed to maybe hit the post and/or the goalkeeper`s foot before going in. Also not having the high behind the goals angle means any appeal we put in for the red card would probably be pointless. Morton fans on Pie and Bovril were saying it was a great tackle but the one angle we have isn`t conclusive so I can`t see it being overturned.

Never realised how bad it was at the time but the chance Yeboah had in the first half shows he didn’t learn from the Queen’s Park game. Could have again played McCann through on goal but went himself from distance. I really hope Tidser sees sense and drops him next week. Fair enough going yourself at 2, 3 nil up but when we badly need the win is just ridiculous. I will give him credit that he improved slightly in the second half but he just hasn’t shown enough so far.

Two outstanding finishes by Kane and great work by McCann and Comrie. I hope we can tie Comrie up for another few years. No matter how bad we are he always seems to come away with a minimum 6/7 out of 10 every week. It was great to see him get the armband when Bene went off.

Comrie is so much more suited to playing as a RB instead of wingback. Like you say, solid 7/10 each week. Great header to set up the goal, really wanted to win it.

Would like to see him stay and compete with Bray next season.

No doubt Bene got the ball, but he did go through the Morton player to do so.

If I am a correct that the law says that if you go through a player to win the ball it is judged to be a foul. That’s why he was sent off. Committing a foul as last man and denying a goal scoring opportunity…

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

2 goals directly as a result of being either strong in possession or strong in going in to win it.

McCann did great to hold off the defender and create the space for the first, Kane showed his intelligence and anticipation given McCann didn’t look up before putting it in the box. That’s what Kane gives you that no one else at the club has. Excellent jump from Comrie to set up the second and again Kane just times the nudge perfectly and sticks it away.

If we can toughen up and just be more physical and up from the fight it might make all the difference (well so long as Kane plays) Hard one on bene, was on the wrong side, some ref’s give them some don’t.

He won the ball cleanly but these days it`s probably a foul which the ref gave then had to send him off.

Come on, Berkey. Give McCann some credit. Yes, he didn’t look up, but he couldn’t. The defender was very tight snd it was nearly out for a goal kick. He rightly just looked to put it in a dangerous area. Kane gambled, quite rightly, made the run to the near post and got his reward.
Well played Kane, McCann and Stevens for the goal

When a team really gels together and you get to know your striking partners, sometimes you don`t need to look up. You just know the positions they take and the runs they make. I thought McCann laid that first goal on a plate for Kane and was slightly disappointed Kane didn`t run right up to McCann and share the credit with him.

Takes a big man to swallow their pride and admit they were wrong at least for one week

Won`t hold my breath

I genuinely think that sort of instinct has been what`s missing for years. So many loans and short contracts that the team hasn`t ever really gelled.

Lewis McCann did really well to put the ball in for the first goal, but he also did really well in the passage of play immediately before that to stay strong down the right hand side and create a threat.

His decision making can be frustrating, but he could be a good player for us if we actually played to his strengths.

Of all the things he is, a left winger is not one of them.

As I’ve said, McCann did great to hold off the defender then just chucked it in there which thanks to putting into a dangerous area AND Kane gambling that he thought McCann would just go low and hard meant we got a massive goal.

I wasn’t complaining he didn’t look this time, I was just stating a fact. One of my main problems is he never looks, even when he has time to and hence why he’s not a winger and his output is generally so poor. Correct that and we might finally be onto something.

It was one of McCanns better games, it’s the 1 in 6 where we get something and was much needed after a very poor showing at Hamilton. likely after that he’s played his way back into the team after being dropped for the Queen’s Park game, that’s to his credit, no one can question his workrate.

Only Tidser can tell you what his future looks like for him past this season, if the mccann from sat turned up even half the time you would want him in your squad.

Interesting to hear Dougie Imrie`s post-match interview. He said they should have made more of the chances they made in the first half and couldn`t understand why his team stopped passing the ball in the second half, against his instructions.

Chris Kane`s introduction changed the game. He reckons he is a Premiership-standard striker. He thought the defending for his goals was poor.
