NDAs meant Cook and anyone involved in that process couldn’t speak about it. So he answered your point in a sentence. And thinking back, the club went up for sale in late August/ early September? The local directors also released a statement at the time saying this had caught them off guard as the Germans had expressed their commitment previously. So an update then would have been futile, and then the NDAs would have been signed once serious offers were presented. Leaving no time, until now, to be legally allowed to update supporters. If the owners left us debt free and sold us to ParkBench with the understanding that losses of this magnitude are possible, then what is there to worry about? The Germans might have thought it was profitable but James Bord and co are clearly aware that losses of this size can happen, especially with poor planning (small squads and a lot of injuries). Already seeing that being turned around with signings and outside strength and conditioning consulting. You mentioned QP but they are bank rolled by a Lord. And they sold the national stadium to the SFA for millions so I’d expect them to have some spare money going around. Raith, well, worst kept secret in Fife about where they get their cash from, allegedly. And if a 400%(or whatever it is) increase in pie sales seems off, then it probably is. Partick keep needing fan handouts and their playing squad reflects this - if they didn’t have Brian Graham they wouldn’t be far off us. Commercial guys are fighting with one arm behind their back when the product (the football) isn’t exactly exhilarating. Selling hospitality is a lot harder when we aren’t winning every week, but he did acknowledge that we have been improving on commercial targets - something which was reflected in the accounts. Won’t even go near your ‘well documented’ claim on people’s salaries - this forum is not based on facts. Sooner people realise that the better. It was as good an update as they could provide for the position we are in. It’s hard to be positive but the club seem to all be pulling in the right direction now with new owners and new management focusing on winning games of football. Reply |

23. Author: OorWullie Date: Thu 6th Mar 2025. 03:07 GPar00, Thu 6 Mar 00:22 Thanks , David. Good of you to come on. Your other post was to criticise David Laming. Updates could have been given before Bord got involved. Updates could have been given on non sensitive topics, not 100% radio silence. People that are wealthy have not done so because they are happy to lose money. Investors want a return. Regardless, QP losses are much less. What happens if the lord walks away? Look at Gretna. Pars fans don’t contribute to our club? Get a grip Rather than throw more people at the problem, get creative. Stop asking long standing sponsors to pay up front for their box or worse, take it off them if they don’t have the full ten people. Think long term or you end up with an empty box, as has been proven. It’s not based on facts from the forum but our club has lots of leaks and I’m not talking about our ush Let’s hope we are all united. I type as a concerned fan. I’m not afraid to criticise if I feel the club is being poorly run Reply |

25. Author: KnebworthPar Date: Thu 6th Mar 2025. 09:12 Very open discussion, very clear. Really encouraging to hear how the new owners are so engaged on a daily basis, that hopefully bodes well. Am always a bit baffled by why some folk are so down on Cook. Post Edited (Thu 06 Mar 09:13) Reply |
26. Author: SeasonedPar Date: Thu 6th Mar 2025. 09:25 While we know the questions are pre-arranged, but a lot covered there by David Cook and Steven Mill, questions the fans would want answered, apart from progress on the training ground… It does sound like fingers crossed for less injuries, and selling on anyone who can command a decent fee and we’re in a healthier financial position. The latter’s probably the way for all Scottish clubs and we’re no different. We’ve come through a torrid 2-3 seasons, so if we can avoid the drop, and make some decent signings this summer, identified by sports and performance analysis, the future can only be better. You’ve got to be an optimist to support the Pars. Also good to hear the fans forums will be coming back (when?), and talks about taking these out into the community rather than only at EEP. Unlikely to have the owners present though. Reply |
