You both couldn’t be more wrong. Chris Kane missed the majority of preseason and has proved to be one our most important players. Definitely not a ‘boo boy’. It’s consistently poor performances on the park that lead to criticism - not missing a preseason.

Anyway, hopefully we’ll have a look of positives to look forward to next season.

Kane got absolute pelters on here during and shortly after pre season. So did McPake for signing him. The point being made is there are people on here who will slaughter the young lad if he has a couple of underpar performances, and that could happen if he doesnt get a full season.
We are not wrong. We have posters on here who would do that.

Make something out of nothing? Seems a bit over the top…

Disagree completely. Fans were frustrated that Kane was injured, not because he was underperforming. I cannot recall anyone giving McPake pelters for signing him. His loan spell was a success and most (if not all) fans wanted him signed for this season. His injury record is poor, which is what frustrated fans and made them desperate, especially when we heavily relied on him this season. I believe we’ve only won one game without him? Connor Young is exciting signing. Fans won’t write him off for a few bad performances. They’ll write him off if he doesn’t perform week in/week out - just like any player. I believe Young will end up being a fantastic signing. Like Kane, he needs service from the midfield and wings next season. This will hopefully be addressed in the summer.

It’s in my mind that some posters were very critical of McPake signing Kane.

Posting on here as an OP
You really have to think twice.
Commenting on a thread - same.
I`m not a shy guy and can debate and take a counter argument well.
But when someone simply dismisses things without a counter discussion and calls you a rocket...
hey ho - bigger problems in the world and all that - one of the reasons this forum is so full of arguments and name calling is for the 2,000 views a post gets, there are 6 or 7 people going back and forth doing exactly that with 2 or 3 trying to have a discussion. And everyone else reading it cant be arsed putting their thoughts in just to get their arse kicked.

Someone hit the nail on the head for me regarding Yeboah further up on the thread.

We loaned Taylor Sutherland out and brought in Yeboah to replace him, makes no sense at all.

We should’ve kept our own youngster and have him game time, I’m fully convinced Taylor would’ve had more of an impact than Yeboah had.

I hope you`re right but thanks to his goal on Saturday, he`s now got 1 in 13 for Clyde.

He also looked like he wasn`t ready for a scrap in the Championship whenever he played earlier this season. I reckon his development is better served on loan in League 2 and playing for our reserves.

At the risk of being labelled an arsewipe.
I think I’m correct in saying he’s 18, doesn’t commute from Bristol every day. Is in a different environment from his normal. What does he do after training? Sit in a B&B/ hostel?
I think for those of us who had to work away from home at 18, it can be difficult adjusting, to a different lifestyle to what you were used to.
His off field life may be affecting his on field performance.

Surely whoever signed off on the deal should have factored all this in when bringing him up to Scotland in the first place? This is the bigger issue for me, who thought he was ready for this level? Was he a in-house scouting choice, a Colquhoun contacts or an analytics signing?

I can’t help think that if he was a home grown academy player he would be out on loan to a Lowland League or SPFL2 team at this point in his development.

It is not the boys fault that he is not ready for this level of football yet. Hopefully, it’s been a useful experience for him & he goes on to have a successful career. It would be great if he could get a goal in the next game to hopefully leave on a positive note. Anyway, the end of the season cannot come quick enough. On to next season.

Make no mistake, he is and was nowhere near ready for this level. He may never be ready for this level but a very poor signing given he was brought in to strengthen the team. Not as bad as the other youngsters who barely even got an appearance like hampson and rivaldo.

At least Lenny will have the power to veto anyone recommended by John colquoun, he gave Tidser an expensive hospital pass in January for sure. Mind you Tidser didn’t help himself by going for Stevens who has been another player that’s looked like a boy playing against men.

At least it’s pretty much impossible to have a worse signing window than the last 3-4 we’ve had.
