41. Author: bannerpar Date: Mon 28th Apr 2025. 17:15 I think the players out of contract next month are Comrie, Breen,Hamilton, Chalmers, Wotherspoon, O`Halloran, Wighton, Clay, Cooper, Mabude, Oluwayemi, Fogarty plus the January loans except Mullen. I`m not sure about young Ewan Mcleod. I think Fogarty will want to get back to Birmingham but I hope we have a shot at signing Tobi. Of the rest I would like to see Hamilton sign on again, not necessarily as a regular pick but someone for particular games or parts of games when the going gets tough. He`s still young enough to have some improvement in him. With such a big offload I would go for at least six experienced signings as a minimum: a goalkeeper, a good centre back (more if the court case doesn`t go well), a midfielder with a bit of guile and a revamped forward line (one right side, one central and one left side). Others to follow depending on the finance but not just snatching at anyone who becomes available. There have been suggestions there will be a shedload of money allocated but while that`s a nice thought, I`ll believe it when I see it. What will be crucial is if Lenny stays and he can influence the Owners to spend some cash on his picks and not have a repeat of James McPake`s downfall. Lenny has played for and managed successful and entertaining teams so you`ve got to think that he has some idea of the style he wants to play and the characteristics of the players he wants to get. Also he should have a load of good contacts in the game. For the time being all my optimism is centred on the one man, time will tell if that works out. Reply |
42. Author: dafc111 Date: Mon 28th Apr 2025. 18:37 List of players from the Premiership who are out of contract at the end of this season. Some interesting names and a few I`d imagine we will enquire about. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/scottish-premiership/endendevertraege/wettbewerb/SC1#google_vignette Reply |
43. Author: Berkey Date: Mon 28th Apr 2025. 20:06 The way you get out of this league is with bigger more physical players who also have a bit of skill about them. Unfortunately, as much as Hamilton gets stuck in he’s not good enough with the ball and hasn’t got the stature. Expect he’ll be moved on. I would be surprised if we pick up a few better players from other teams in the championship. That’s the old, old firm trick to keep the other teams down when they uncover a gem and in this case it makes sense and would be cheaper. 45. Author: neils Date: Mon 28th Apr 2025. 20:21 McCann`s contact is up, with the club having an option for a further year I believe. Neil Lennon will know what needs to be worked on with him or not. Didn`t realise the club had an option on Joe Chalmers too, a player I like, but would be astonished if they took it up. Either way, we have some decent young ones under contract, some need to be pushing the first team, some will benefit from loans. Reply |

48. Author: Berkey Date: Tue 29th Apr 2025. 00:28 Feels like everything depends on whether we want to go with a good first 11 with the current players as the subs to fill out the squad or a strong squad. Strong squad would suggest we would be trying to offload a few of those under contract and not taking up the option on McCann. If your Lennon and you have young and Kane in the squad and want to bring your own striker in too then why also keep McCann? He’d have more chance if he was 18-20 but a 24 year old who is likely to go from over 30 games a season down to a bit part player next season doesn’t make any sense for the club or the player. 49. Author: DunfyDave Date: Tue 29th Apr 2025. 12:27 Totally agree with Berkey. The BIGGER the clearout the BETTER. NL will have his own ideas and won`t want to be bothered with players that haven`t shown him their true potential at such a vital time in this campaign to cement inclusion in next years campaign DunfyDave Reply |
50. Author: parathletic Date: Tue 29th Apr 2025. 12:39 Whilst I agree we need new blood, if we bring in a whole new team it will be difficult to hit the ground running with a team full of strangers. Very rarely do wholesale changes bring immediate success. Reply |
51. Author: kozmasrightfoot Date: Tue 29th Apr 2025. 12:49 It`ll probably be rebuilt over 3-4 transfer windows which could mean a mid table finish next year whilst striving for the playoffs. The following season is when I`d expect to be challenging, and F*lkirk will be back down beside us (if they get over the line on Friday). But football is a funny old game, F*lkirk have been top of the table most of the season with a squad that`s mainly made up off their league 1 winning team. This shows you don`t always need radical changes. I think we do though. Pars fan. Magpies fan. Mens tennis fan. Alternative rock fan. Not a fan of much else. Reply |

53. Author: neils Date: Tue 29th Apr 2025. 16:40 Aye, I`m kind of looking at next season may well be up and down, because it`s past debating that we need to keep any players that are not under contract. I assume we will need a few transfer windows, some trial and error included, getting experience is difficult, we have had enough has-beens , and a few head bangers over the years, trying to avoid that is tricky. The guys out of contract, all honest pros, most of them we did well in patches from them, but we have the opportunity (like when AJ took over) of having a complete overhaul, no more `if we work on his heading ` or `if we worked on his positioning` etc. let`s get guys that look comfortable at this level. Forward with the revolution! Reply |
54. Author: red-star-par Date: Tue 29th Apr 2025. 18:17 I think if we keep Lennon, then next season we will win the league. Lets not forget, he has won more league titles than any other manager currently working in Scottish Football. I think he will do his due diligence on who he`s bringing in, it`ll be proven winners, real footballers that have a competitive edge. For decades the club has been blighted by guys that are just coasting along, content to be second tier players, we need people that are going to give absolutely everything in training, to be given the chance to give everything they have on the pitch on a Saturday. 55. Author: parathletic Date: Tue 29th Apr 2025. 18:32 red-star-par, Tue 29 Apr 18:17 Wish I was as confident as you. Fair enough he won the titles for Celtic and Hibs as would be expected. At his other 3 clubs he won 29 out of 114 games. Bolton were bottom of the table when he left, he lasted a few months in Cyprus and was sacked in Romania without winning a game. I like what I have seen so far but he doesn`t have a magic wand. 56. Author: kozmasrightfoot Date: Tue 29th Apr 2025. 22:25 They should have a look at the English National league and the Irish leagues. Some players there have scored loads of goals. You can`t tell me those leagues are of a much lower level than the Scottish Championship. Ollie Pierce of York City has scored 30 goals. A guy in the Northern Irish league has scored 32 goals for H&W Welders. I`m just saying 🤷. Pars fan. Magpies fan. Mens tennis fan. Alternative rock fan. Not a fan of much else. Reply |

58. Author: Berkey Date: Wed 30th Apr 2025. 00:37 Agree parathletic, the only player Lenny has signed so far is wanyama. However that was outside the window so there were no other options available but we would have been better off keeping the cash in the pocket for this summer given he’ll be on decent money to motivate him to at least try and get some form of fitness. Really hoping he’s got better contacts and it’s not just a bunch of mid 30’s Celtic or hibs players. The post below replying to me is by one of .nets finest champions of mediocrity! Reply |
