Topic: Hamilton re-signs.

Hamilton didn`t have a great season but did he not miss some of pre season that wouldn`t help.

I`ve got to say some of the comments regarding Hamilton signing again are disgraceful if you ask me.

3 years he`s been with us and the first 2 years he didn`t have bad seasons.

It`s possibly correct that a player signing a new contract less fanfare from the club but it is what it is.

All the best for the new season Chris

Good to see him re-sign. Shame some fans are getting their knickers in a twist.

Can see why we have re signed him, can play in multiple positions, gives his all, disruptive ball winner.

Decent squad player.

If he wants to start regularly in a title chasing side he will need to be a lot better on the ball than he has been though. Maybe a preseason under Lennon will do him a world of good. He is still young enough to improve.

The social media build up was definitely misjudged though.

The attention seeking idiots doing our social media have made this a negative thing, with the over the top build-up from last night.

Welcome aboard for another year Hammy, I`m sure he will be a valuable squad member.

In fairness the core purpose of social media is attention seeking! But I agree that this was a proper daft way to do things.

What a depressing and unnecessary thread. I can`t understand why a fan of any team would want to start a thread with the express intention of slagging off one of their own players.

Well, the OP has certainly succeeded. Every Pars player has my support. Chris may not always perform at the level he or we would like, but he always gives 100%. Depending on who comes in during the transfer window, he may or may not be a regular starter, but he is a natural leader, helping to get the best out of the players around him and he can fill in more than adequately in defence. He is a valuable squad player and certainly not "dug meat."

Not your average Sunday League player.

I`m not sure on Hamilton resigning, but I trust Lennon given he was a similar player to Hammy. We need a big season from him this year, as his resigning i think is more on faith than performances after last season.

If that`s the only announcement though, the social media team have had a nightmare! Why mimic Thistles announcement if there`s no link to Thistle?

a decent squad player, are we going with a squad of 30 players?

the midfield needs a rebuild and re-signing Hamilton, more than likely Cooper and Wanyama also, who knows what might happen with Oakley-Boothe too, is not the answer.

Honestly, I`m pleased Hammy has signed. He gives his all, brijgs passion and no doubt fires up those around him, and provides cover in holding midfield or sweeper. He didn`t have a great season, but who did? (Other than Tobi)

Most of all, I trust NL. If anyone can help Hammy improve it is Lenny. NL was exactly the player Hammy should aspire to emulate.

Not a bad bit of business tbh. Hamilton`s a decent squad player that offers some versatility which is always handy to have coming off the bench. Not exactly buzzing about the signing, but not against it either. It’s one of those “fine, fair enough” deals. Still loads of time to bring others in with the window not even open yet, so no panic. Let’s see what else we do.

c'mon the pars

There`s me thinking Ahoy Ahoy was a supporter 🤷‍♂️

Bit embarrassing post and completely unnecessary.

Won every player of the year award the season before. An asset to any team in the championship. Ok the build up to this was a bit ott, however a very good player to have in our squad

I don’t think the intent was to slag the player (although it inevitably went there) but more that the social media build up to it is a total cringe. Personally I’m happy enough he has resigned as he would be a solid squad player.

More than happy he’s signed an extension. Never gives anything less than 100%

I’m just a wee bit concerned about how this forum will react when the announcement that Chalmers has been re-signed (on a 3 year contract) is made.

Good on Chris. We need our vice captain and I hope he retains that role.

I think Chris Hamilton re-signing is a good thing. He will be a valuable squad player. Long passes are his weakness, but I think Neil Lennon will make sure all players in the squad are playing to their strengths.

(I think re-signing Joe Chalmers on a 1 year deal would also make sense.)

I’m encouraged by Hammys resigning.

He knows the club, he knows the supports expectation, he’s one of us. You could see the look of despair on his face at various junctures last season. This is a pivotal point in Hammys career.

IMO - If it’s just going to be more of the same he’d be off. He’s been shown the bigger picture & he wants to be a part of it.

Happy Hamilton is back a player who always gives 110% and even when things don`t go his way never hides away. If I was a player id hate playing against a player as tenacious as Hamilton so glad he`s on our side.
