23. Author: kozmasrightfoot Date: Sun 29th Jun 2025. 15:20 The fans somehow need to make the owners know that they ain`t happy with the dogmeat currently on offer. The stuff they sell at east end is nowhere near what they sell in their shops. Their shop stuff (meat related) isn`t much better tbh, Stephens is only good for rolls, filled rolls and cakes. Lentil soup and a roll would be very popular at half time. Filled rolls pre prepared. Bean and potato pies Custard creams, strawberry tarts etc I get it’s a speed service but they could so much better and yes I get it takes a lot of time and effort for pre prepared rolls but other hot meals and soup shouldn’t even be an issue. Stephen’s Bakery have been playing it ‘safe’ for too many years now whilst other clubs are overtaking us in terms of choice. Zwei Pints Bier und ein Päckchen Chips bitte ![]() Reply |

You can even go to League 2 and non-league grounds and get “sexy pies” as someone I know calls them haha. If I’m going to Stephen’s on a match day, I tend to go to one of the shops I pass on route, because of the choice….and normally you find the tea/coffee and the food hot. Reply |
27. Author: neils Date: Sun 29th Jun 2025. 21:17 Much prefer Baynes when I`m back, Stephens definitely gone downhill, or if we could stretch to Stuart`s........ Fan zones never took off in Britain I think, personally doesn`t interest me, the ground is so close to the city centre, and there`s cracking pre match pubs, that I don`t see the attraction, but then again I work in Malta, and get to the ground only about 10 games a season. But pre match ritual is Commercial (including food) many German stadiums are really almost out of town, or not in the centre, American? The few that I`ve been to, you need to be there well before KO anyway, locations are dreadful if you don`t have a car. Reply |

Dortmund for example is about 15 minutes away from any surrounding area by train but the plus side to the experience is meeting people (fellow scots ) from other countries two hours before kick off and make it worthwhile. The main beer garden there has multiple TV screens too so fans can catch earlier games and if unlucky to get tickets can stay and watch BVB live at 2.30 pm or whatever the K.O. Is as no restrictions there. The other attraction is TV screens in the concourse where you buy food and drink. Game is shown live so you don’t miss anything. Access is all over the place - loads of folk just walked in without their tickets being scanned. Burger van selling juice and water in cans and bottles which is usually a big no-no in case they can be used as a weapon. Nice enough toilets but not many of them. Still just about better than Meadowbank but not by much. Reply |
