83. Author: Benny74 Date: Sat 28th Jun 2025. 19:30 Totally agree with Cammy. The coach said in his interview also that the league cup matches will allow time to get a few more bodies in so their only real target for signings is the first game in the league. I appreciate everyone is spooked because the Germans didn’t bring anyone in but this regime are trying to do the right thing and NL is looking to bring in quality from all over Europe. It will take time. Pars fans were over the moon with the amount of signings brought in last January but look how that worked out. If they had found 6 or 7 players in 2 weeks that would be a worry. We just need to be patient. Benny74 Reply |
84. Author: onandupthepars Date: Sat 28th Jun 2025. 19:30 Neil Lennon: "You consider the week that they`ve had in Bulgaria, and then they played a game on Thursday, and then flew back yesterday, I was really pleased with the fitness levels, and obviously the chances we created as well. "It was a really good pre-season game actually, so, I`m delighted with the way things are going at the minute. "They`ve all [had] like a game, 90 minutes under their belt now, so now you start to crank things up a bit football-wise. "It`s pre-season so they all need to get the minutes in their legs, and we have worked them very, very hard physically. "I mean, they`ve done over 80,000 metres this week, so some of them have probably not had a pre-season like that before, but they`ll feel the benefit of it going forward." When asked how tough it was with such a short turnaround from returning from Bulgaria to going into another match, the Pars boss added: "It was a long day yesterday, obviously flying back from Bulgaria. "There was a few delays, and delays with the baggage as well, so some of the guys weren`t getting home to maybe six, seven o`clock last night. "It`s obviously not ideal preparation, but it`s pre-season. Like I say, we only planned for them to play 45 (minutes) and it`s a mix-and-match as well with a lot of the younger players, and players who probably haven`t played with each other before. "There`s going to be a few creases to iron out but, in the main, I`m delighted." https://www.dunfermlinepress.com/sport/25274668.dunfermline-neil-lennon-bulgaria-trip-east-kilbride-match/ Post Edited (Sat 28 Jun 19:32) Reply |

87. Author: kozmasrightfoot Date: Sat 28th Jun 2025. 20:51 I honestly can`t see us signing 6/7 new players. I`d guess 3/4 at the most. A striker, a goalkeeper, a forward thinking midfielder and a defender that can shuffle about. It`s all a guessing game though, so who knows. Maybe we`ll sign 10 players. Pars fan. Magpies fan. 88. Author: GJS93 Date: Sat 28th Jun 2025. 21:39 added part to the interview on the official site "How did you think the younger players acquitted themselves? “Really well. We’re really well, really happy with them – John Tod, Freddie Rowe (pictured above), Ewan McLeod, the Sutherlands, the young Trialist came in on trial today. He did very, very well. I can’t really knock any of them. They’ve given me everything so far. We know where they are, some of them are young – Lucas Fyfe is sixteen and he started today in the first-team game. A great experience for him but it just shows that we’ve got good depth underneath.” A couple of trialists played today, will they be signed soon? “They did well but no decision will be made until maybe early next week. Obviously, we want to get a lot more bodies in as well. So, there’s nothing really to tell you on the transfer front, but we’re working very hard behind the scenes to bring some quality in as well.” https://dafc.co.uk/neil-lennon-post-east-kilbride/ Reply |
89. Author: Berkey Date: Sat 28th Jun 2025. 21:47 Will be interesting to see if Lennon improves any of the players he inherited… didn’t see it last season so let’s see how this season goes, the longer it goes on the less signings I feel we’ll make, we need 7-8 but think we’ll get 4-5 which hopefully moves us from a struggling side to a mid table one for this season. 90. Author: Never10yairds Date: Sat 28th Jun 2025. 21:47 Kozma, the right 4 in would maybe be enough to get us in the playoffs. The right 7 in would maybe get us in the running for a title challenge. Very interested to see how the rest of the window develops for us. Reply |
91. Author: McCaig`s Tower Date: Sun 29th Jun 2025. 00:15 There was plenty parking and a good burger van but the ticketing was a bit suspect and it’s not a great place to watch football if there is any sort of crowd (and it was apparently sold out). We played a different 11 in each half – good for getting 45 minutes into everyone’s legs, but not ideal if you care particularly about the result. No sign of Kane, Andrew Tod, Sam Young or Zeke Cameron. And no Wanyama. Each eleven was a mix of senior and youth players and a trialist, one who looked like Demus, one who looked like Alasdair Davidson. Both line-ups looked like a 3-4-1-2 – with two wing backs pressing high and an advanced midfielder. I assume that will be our favoured formation. This meant both our elevens were a bit weak, with inexperienced players and players perhaps not playing in their best positions. Again we didn’t score, and it seemed as if they would only count goals if three different players had touched the ball in their box first, such was the reluctance to shoot. I think there is a lack of confidence here – it would have been good if they had the opportunity to rectify this by banging in a few goals in a friendly but maybe that will have to happen in the League Cup now. I thought last year’s pre-season was pretty woeful then we started with a decent win at Spartans (but that was about as good as it got). There weren’t really any stand-outs as you’d expect. Tod looked comfortable, Ngwenya and Hamilton looked quite sharp, Bray promising. The Sutherlands didn’t quite click – maybe next time. Central midfield is the concern, but I think we all know that. 92. Author: kelty_par Date: Mon 30th Jun 2025. 09:48 Interesting you thought Ngwenya looked sharp - I thought the opposite and also thought it was odd playing him at left centre back with Otoo at left wing back. Of the two trialists, I`m not sure if the keeper is an upgrade on Mehmet tbh. Doesn`t look like Tobi is coming back but we have been linked with the Watford keeper who was on loan at Partick last season. Davidson looked decent enough although we had a lot more kf rhe ball in the second half so he didn`t have to do much. Goalkeeper, wing back, centre forward the most pressing areas needing addressed before the League Cup or League starts IMO. Reply |
