They can pass on alot of their experience and knowledge. It is good we are attracting talented young players who want to improve their game. Given they put a 16 year old into the first team it demonstrates that if they come to us, they will get their opportunity. It`s a good reputation to have" It was the "Brentford model"for a few years, no academy of their own but Youth teams at U19/21/23s where they would pick up players released form mainly prem academies given the london catchment and look for "late developers" or blend players into squad. Geography certainly helped them them given how many players chelsea etc hoover up at adacemy level. Getting Promoted themselves to Prem meant they had to expand to their own academy etc etc. ![]() Reply |
