There`s no thread on this yet so here we go.

I`m heading through tonight, becoming a regular thing after not really going to any Scotland matches for years. I enjoy my trips to Hampden, mainly as it gives me an altogether different set of emotions and new ways to be disappointed by football. A change is as good as a rest, you know what they say.

Could be any result tonight but I`m buoyed by the fact that some of our key players are heading into it with regular game time and in decent form.

If I`m Steve Clarke I`m getting the ball to (Gannon) Doak at every opportunity and getting the crowd on their feet so with that in mind i`m going to enjoy his four minute cameo off the bench once we`re chasing a goal.

Watching the game on a Greek Island (Kastellorizo), should be lively.

Lessons to be learned about how easily they cut us apart in the last visit to Hampden but bouyed by the discipline we showed defensivley in Copenhagen last month.

Expect a similar line up

Gunn

Hickey
Soutar
Hanley
Robertson

McGinn
McTominay
Gilmour (ferguson)
Christie

Adams
Dykes

Disciplined and structures in defence with outlets to attack when we are in possession.

A win tonight and going 4 points clear of the Greeks with 3 games to play is massive whilst Danes likley take 4/5 goals off a poor Belaraus side

Id like him go stick to 4 at the back and have an extra in midfield, but I fear he will go back to 5 at the back tonight for some reason. Whoever is marking Karetsas tonight has to keep tight and make him feel uncomfy early on. If he’s allowed free rein we are in trouble.

Two big games this week, take 6 points and we have a chance of topping group. Anything less and it will be hard.

Listened to Sportsound podcast and Karetsas is doubtful to start having been ill recently.

I think he’ll go a bit of a 4-2-3-1. Greeks strength is in midfield/attacking midfield. I think he’ll flood it with bodies then try and create chances from wide.

Struggling to find our feet and should be a goal down already.
Have we learned anything from the 3-0 in March?

Doak looks out of his depth and early doors we look very poor.

Clarke must be the most negative manager in the world . That`s including Levein .
Another awful watch so far .

No movement, passing far too slow, inviting the press, nothing sticking up top... it`s just like some Pars matches of recent vintage.

The couple of times we pressed their back line, we won the ball back and had our best spells. They`re pressing with a front 4, winning nothing when it gets played forward, and really missing Gilmour making the space. Ferguson and Christie have struggled to have the same impact.

In modern football you need defenders that are comfortable on the ball and can bring it out from defence and break forward into midfield and link play. Mullen and J Tod are perfect examples. Soutar and Hanley may be decent enough defenders but they are dinosaurs when it comes to looking comfortable on the ball and bring it out as opposed to continually passing side ways and backwards or hoofing it up the park.

Back four means we have no wing backs. Not pressing as a team either so it’s no surprised we have been dreadful in an attacking sense.

Get Tierney on, go to a back five, get wing backs up the field. Ferguson off. He has been poor every single time I have seen him in a Scotland shirt. No idea how he is revered in Bologna. Average at best.

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.
