I haven’t been a fan of Deniz in the past, and you could point to games where he’s made bad mistakes. However, I thought yesterday he made some very good saves at crucial times.
I’d like us to send Munn back to Rangers if the loan deal contains such a clause. Mehmet and Terrell are both out of contract at the end of the season, so they can fight it out for the No. 1 jersey and a new deal although I favour Terrell.

This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it.

Mehmet has always been a good shot-stopper, but vulnerable at crosses. Yesterday he had a couple of decent punches - maybe picking up a bit from Terrell?

I wasn`t there due to other commitments but would Terrell have made the saves that Mehmet did? I can only judge from the highlights really.

Mehmets biggest downfalls for me are being glued to his line and his kicking is poor.

After watching the highlights, albeit on my phone, the one in the second half looked like Ngwenya maybe blocked it rather than a Mehmet save.

Made my mind up on Mehmet a long time ago. But credit where it’s due I thought he was excellent the other day.

I think at 33 Deniz has 5 good years ahead of him and these should arguably be his best years as a keeper. I think he went through a spell like most do, but personally I think he has improved and his best years are ahead. We could do alot worse than give him another contract in my view.

My own personal opinion. He’s loyal for starters despite being an obvious second choice.
He’s a fairly safe pair of hands in this league but has flaws.
His kicking for starters is suspect especially when it’s a pass back.
QOS game kind of exposed his weakness in one on ones.
Despite that he’s someone who’s actually improving with us and I’ve noticed he is eager to get the ball moving ASAP when in hand.
He never used to do that.
Tirrel has done good so far apart from the Ayr game where his decision making was very wrong on two occasions.
I’d be fine extending his contract and you know, even Deniz if he’s willing to accept he’s not going to be a regular number one.

I would keep Terrell and let Deniz go.

For the money Deniz is on from what I’ve heard, we can’t afford to have him as a back up keeper but I don’t think he’s the answer to our number 1 spot. It’s a tough one cause he can probably bring Terrell on a fair bit.

Be a struggle for anyone to convince me on Deniz to be honest.

He did well yesterday but he lacks the ability to command the box and is as mentioned, poor when it comes to crosses into the box.

Give him his dues for penalties though, he’s not bad at saving them.

Deniz is calm and assured unlike the younger keepers who have crazy moments and flap at most crosses they do come for. .

Prefer Deniz in goal and hope he keeps the jersey…

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

It is likely he will be the backup keeper if he signs again. On a lower wage.
As someone said, his next 5 years could be his best.
I think it would be hard to find a better backup, but I am quite sure if he gets an offer of first choice at a decent team, he will take it.

Don`t think Deniz has done much wrong when called upon this season. For me you always need at least one experienced keeper at the club to help the younger guys along.

Terrell has impressed so far, filling the void we had when Tobi left last year. Don`t think Munn will be here come January as I`m sure Rangers don`t want him to be third choice, but he`s just too raw for this level right now.

Yeah, Munn comes highly rated and could yet turn out to be a McGregor, however not quite at Championship level yet.
Deniz has been solid when called upon, credit where it`s due.

I don’t think he is raw, I think he’s just not at this level yet. Could turn out to be a good Goalkeeper in time, but he’s not our player so we don’t have time. I think his time is up at the club and I’m sure there will be a statement soon saying he has been recalled.

He hasn’t done badly when called upon this season but that is literally all he should be - a last resort.
Some very short memories in here regarding how many times he fluffed all variants of goal keeping kick outs. Not to mention the roots that he has on his boots once he gets on his goal line 90% of the time. Did he make a good block on Saturday? Yes. Is he the answer to what seems to be a a redeveloping goal keeping issue ( Terrell being unable to sustain match fitness ) - Definitely not.

The way some folk go on about Deniz you`d think he was the only Championship keeper who`d missed a cross he`d come for or miskicked a clearance. He had a very poor spell at the start of last season playing behind a very dodgy defence playing a system they were unfamiliar with and unsuited to. As a result he completely lost his confidence.

Since then he he has been pilloried on here - and everybody seems to know his wages! The fact that he hasn`t let us down any time he has been called upon this season says a lot about his character. Terrell shows promise but he`s young and subject to the occasional howler - some of which have proved costly.

If Mehmet had conceded some of the goals that Terrell has this season, we`d have had multiple threads about how much of a liability he is.

Thankfully, that`s not been the case as he`s a young keeper, with lots of promise, who is bound to make mistakes in his first year as a starting keeper. I am glad that the supporter base has taken to him and seem to have a bit of perspective about it.

It does, however, highlight the often unwarranted abuse that Mehmet has taken in previous seasons. He`s not some sort of world class keeper, has plenty of flaws and has been directly responsible for some goals. On may occasions though, people have found reason to blame him for things that were not his fault - or, at worst, were marginal - and have refused to give any credit for some outstanding saves he`s made, including some penalty saves at the business end of a season where we ended up above the relegation play-off place by the skin of our teeth.

This is either a really late or early April fools!
Deniz rides on the accolades of the league one season and I can’t remember a game where I was left thinking I’m glad we had him in goals. No one is saying that he is the only keeper to make an error but to be blowing smoke up his backside just now is just lingering derby euphoria. The save he made in the first half on Saturday, he was poorly positioned and made what was a very tame header look a lot more difficult than it was. If that had been a George Oakley or a Barney Stewart type heading that it was a definite goal. Poor composure early in the second half from the rovers player played as much part in the save as Deniz did.
Glad we got the result but to read people openly advocating Mehmet playing regularly, a player that 3 managers have made second choice at best is just bizarre!
