Amazing comments, nothing to do with covers or undersoil heating, it`s to do with them not able to get here safely

The club specifically states it’s due to parts of the pitch being frozen.

Well I hope it’s on or I’ll be handing oot my cupcakes to the neeburs.

There`s always a positive..... at least they`ll be happy with something alongside a cuppa this afternoon.

I’ll wait for the lads coming back from their training 😉

Have the restraining orders been lifted?😉

I think there are several issues;

1. RC players that may travel from the north
2. Away supporters travelling from the north
3. Amber weather warning in the north and the challenges travelling to and from the game
4. Cost of putting on the undersoil heating given the points above
5. Early decision to avoid unnecessary travel

Sensible all-around decision in my view in light of the above

we arent using the undersoil heating....thats why they bought covers! buying them if they cant handle this kind of weather is pointless though.

Ross county had no intentions of travelling.

So what if the pitch had been passed playable ?

That would cause a big drama.

Time we had Summer football. August to mid
December then a break, then February to June.

If the pitch was deemed playable they would have no choice.

That would work nicely with a 16 team league and 8 less fixtures in a season so can have a proper winter break. Wont hold our breaths though.

I don`t see a winter break working to be honest

You have clubs , especially part time ones , having to pay wages with no income.

I remember the summer football, lying sunbathing at the Cowdenbeath end and watching the game!

Is that not the same scenario as the summer break we’ve had since Adam was laddie - just a different time of the year/season ?

Is it not in the clubs favour to have a longer summer break and more time with players being out of contract?

I expect there`s an easy way around it but change always puts people off.

And I would be up for it if it meant the Tennents Sixes started again!

Ireland, Norway, Sweden and Finland play their
football during the summer months, and they don`t
have any problems.

Well it would work if it`s just a straight season, rather than a winter break to split, not sure if it would work or not.

clothes rather than Thick pullovers, big jackets woolly socks
long johns ect.

100% agree.
There`s always been something romantic about football played in the snow, under floodlights, crisp winter air etc, but realistically as the candles on the cake increase, the joints take longer to thaw out after sitting for a couple of hours on a cold, damp plastic seat each week.
I`ll still turn up each cold January match, but I`d be much more comfortable with July weather

Would the attendance really improve? Family holidays, etc., and people tend to plan more when it`s nicer weather than the winter months. What would happen in the Euros and WC years?

The evidence of the Cup fixtures in July would point to no on this one, for the reasons mentioned above.
