| 2. Author: Never10yairds Date: Sat 14th Feb 2026. 12:22 I’ve been banging on about this for 15 years. It has all sorts of advantages and no insurmountable problems. The real reason is that the SFA are too set in their ways. Reply |
| 3. Author: McCaig`s Tower Date: Sat 14th Feb 2026. 12:22 Would that not mean the league deciders/promotion play-offs/cup final would be held in November/December when pitches aren`t famed for their quality and can be unplayable for weeks at a time? Reply |

| 5. Author: Bletchley_Par Date: Sat 14th Feb 2026. 12:26 I want stuff to do in the winter, plenty to do in the summer. Spent over £100 on tickets today, I`m frustrated but the Pars are the only show in town for me this time of year. I would have plenty distractions in the summer. ![]() Reply |

| 9. Author: 1985Par Date: Sat 14th Feb 2026. 12:49 No summer football for me. Plenty else going on throughout the summer and I’ve seen nothing to suggest attendances wouldn’t suffer. Besides, fitba is about the only thing that gets me through the winter. I do think we need a rethink about artificial pitches- inferior to a good grass pitch but you only get a good grass pitch in the first third of the season- even Aberdeen and Dundee utd can’t get a game on and the rest are getting ploughed up. | 11. Author: NMCmassive Date: Sat 14th Feb 2026. 13:04 I hate this argument 🤣 Only ever pops up when a pitch is frozen. Having played a couple of seasons on the 7’s rugby circuit I’ll tell you this-swollen ankles and skint knees. A dried out pitch is as bad as a frozen one. Pitches aren’t like putting greens, there is divits, undulations and everything else. I get that they are look after pitches much better these days but there will still be that sort of thing in them. what if we had a summer drought and they were allowed to water the grass? Beech football? COYP Reply |

People go holidays all year round, days of the Glasgow fair are well gone. Lot cheaper to water a pitch than run under soil heating. ‘Hello my name is Jefferson - I’m happy to be here let’s go!’ Reply |

Author: DBP Date: Sat 14th Feb 2026. 14:20 I would love summer football… for me it’s all about the temperature when you’re outside for hours, not doing much… Number of times I’ve come home in real pain due to numb hands and feet (even in days that aren’t that cold to many) For me selfishly, I’m delighted game of today as had already decided I wasn’t going to go as to cold for my old bones.
