We are rudderless on the pitch, we have no leader, making Mullen Captain presumably to encourage him to sign a new deal , unfortunately he is not captain material and perhaps not as good as himself and his agent think he is albeit he is a good player who could do with another couple of seasons with us . The only other Captain would be Benny who is probably coming to the end of his career or Hamilton who can,t stay on the pitch long enough to be a leader. we need someone with a bit of drive an enthusiasm to push the young lads forward

This season was always going to be about building a team and giving young players experience. I had hoped we would achieve a top four finish, but that is looking more and more unlikely on recent form lets be honest. The biggest challenge is getting in forward players. In this league you need a big strong forward line as it is more about physically being able to pressure defences. I appreciate playees coming in on loan, but you really need your own players in those key positions.

Defensively I like JCM and Nuru but we leak goals so there is a bit of an issue there. Teams are getting behind us and causing us problems. We have a reputation of losing goals early. Not a good reputation to have. I think we need Bene back as captain even if we play with three at the back.

Much talk of JCM moving on. Im not sure of the situatoon, but if he wants to move on, you cant stand in his way. I would be happy to see MFW back even for a fee. He chipped in with goals.

8 wins from 24 league games is poor given the backing Lennon has had. McPake would’ve done better IMO if he had been give the same budget. Lennon is a flat track bully who is used to having everything his own way at Celtic.

This thread is ridiculous, one or two really needing to give their heads a wobble and now we get McPake would do better🤷‍♂️We’re building a team and building the experience of young players. NL has had two transfer windows these things need time but sadly that’s not something some on this forum are prepared to give. Ive every confidence NL will turn this around. It’s a work in progress, we’ve a cup quarter final, the first in 17 years and enough games left to ensure we improve on last season. We’ve had to endure Hughes, Grant, McPake and Tidser and some still don’t believe the club is improving? It’s in the best shape for years and a couple of bad results won’t change that. Moderate your expectations and have some patience.

Lennons had 2 windows yes, so why haven’t we signed a first choice keeper?

He obviously wasn’t impressed with Mehmet last season as he stuck with Tobi. We only brought in Terrell in the summer.

It’s an area that’s needed sorted for years.

Same with the striker situation, needed addressed last season and here was are still with Kane our only number 9.

And the striker you’d have brought in would have been?

There was a fair number of fans celebrating Terrell’s contract extension earlier in the week.

We’re a championship team I don’t know how many players of the quality you require would be willing to take the step down therefore we need to build with young players with potential.

Didn`t we sign Rudden to address the striker situation? He got injured so we brought in Barney on loan. As soon as he returned to Falkirk Rudden was back but unfortunately dislocated his shoulder. Top strikers aren`t easy to find in the January window.

I wanted us to bring in Tony Watt or Louis Moult at striker. Both were available and looking for a club.

I don’t doubt we had targets up front and at goalkeeper in the summer that fell through for various reasons tho. I’d hope this summer we will be more successful in the window and get the pieces we really need.

St Johnstone managed to sign 2. No excuses for our recruitment, Lennon, Bord, Cook whoever has had the last 3 to fix issues yet we have a hugely worrying GK situation and no real attack

It’s hard when we sign a striker like Rudden and he’s only played 8 out of a possible 21 league games. You can’t really factor that in when we sign him. We are also lumbered with Kane (who’s unreliable) and KRH, who isn’t good enough, both on big wages and long contracts from the previous regime. If these guys fall out of favour or get injured, they still have to be paid.

My biggest gripe is that when we play a back five, we also play two deep lying midfielders in Gilmour and Amade. That’s seven players in defensive positions, and it’s never going to work when the opposition are asking us to break down a low block. I’m hoping Cooper is fit soon as he could be the one to drive forward and make things happen.

This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it.

There are strikers out there.

Like said above St Johnstone brought 2 in who were available.

Morton brought in a striker in Main.

Do we actually look for players who are available or just automatically jump down to the English championship academies?

Recruitment is an issue. Yea Rudden was brought in for the striker position and got injured, we still had time to bring in someone during January and haven still currently with the loan window open. Throw in the fact Kane can’t play more than 45mins, it’s a concern.

I’m not Lennon out just yet, but I do think questions need to be asked and I do have concerns that he’s not the manager most of us thought he was.

In front of the camera, he generally says the right things…although our views maybe differ after match at times….but he never seem to address these problems adequately. New players come in, but yet we start slow, give away sloppy goals, slow in the build up, one dimensional yadda yadda yadda.

The signing policy is the signing policy, and it’s one that I agree with, but when Lennon and everyone can see we lack experience, we address this by signing a winger to play out of position and a Centre Midfielder who looked way off it against the League 1 whipping boys and has so much going on in his personal life, that it’s understandable that his mind and priorities aren’t on his football at this moment in time.

I could go on and on, but a lot of my views have already been said. It is a project and it was never going to be turned around in 2 transfer windows, but we should be seeing better progress than this. Lennon came out and was frosty with the fans after the Kelty game, words to the affect of “I don’t care, I don’t care how we played. We’re in the quarter final for the first time in years and people need to remember that” and that’s fine to say that, if you keep winning, but we haven’t, so these comments grind more than they probably should.

Lennon out…..not yet, but he needs to start getting it right and he needs to drop the “you’re lucky to have me” attitude and get it sorted. He’s praised the backing from the stands along with the support from the board and the owners, so he can’t have any excuse and he can’t continue with this weak, possession based football that has cost others before him their job.

The next 3 games are 3 6 pointers, I don’t hold out much hope of getting something out of Tuesday, but we must start to see improvement, or as has been seen on this thread, I think sections of the support will start being vocal against him.

Thomas came in. It’s not his fault that our strikers are feeding off scraps at the moment. You still haven’t given me a name of who you’re bringing in if you sack Lennon?

Let me be clear here, do I think Lennon needs to sort it out? Absolutely. But I’ve yet to see anyone mention who they would bring in. It’s worth remembering that any new manager would still have the same squad that you keep telling people isn’t good enough. So it begs the question: is there any point in paying off a manager when it’s the same pool of players you think aren’t good enough? Also worth remembering we are closer to 4th than 9th.

This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it.

St Johnstone brought in 2 strikers when they were 8 points clear at the top of the league, these boys could smell the premier league plus they still have incoming transfer fees and parachute payments to throw around.
Imagine the noise on here if we’d signed Fowler and he turned in a performance like he did on Friday night. We’ll be fine, get behind the team.

they werent available early in the window when the club needed at least one forward to come in, the club signed two, they have been criticised in the past for being slow in the market, should they have waited on players who might not have become available at all or might have had no interest in coming here?

"we still had time to bring in someone during January and haven still currently with the loan window open. Throw in the fact Kane can’t play more than 45mins, it’s a concern.

they already brought two forwards in, Rudden got injured after the window had closed and there might not be a single forward available on loan, even if there is again they might have no interest in coming here.

I`m not sure I agree with the fact about calling for Lennon to be ousted and looking for a replacement already.

Is Lennon the problem he is obviously the one that carries the can, but does he need an upgrade in his backroom staff to help him

a lot of bed wetting going on in here.

sucess takes time, there will be ups and down on the way but changing managers and starting again from scracth isnt the answer.

there is no quick fixes in scottish football.
