Did anyone notice there were no Aberdeen subs out at half time? Maybe they were all part of the collective bollocking, but it meant that three subs started the second half without warming up.

I noticed that, dd. It didn’t help them one bit.

Absolutely, Rigger.

Another one in the credit column for Mr Lennon, everyone second guessing Abduli getting put on the bench, yet another decision he got right.

They all got pulled in pretty quickly at half time.

That was one of the weirdest games I remember watching. If anything I expected a really similar game to the Hibs one but we looked completely comfortable and even when Aberdeen started both halves well, you didn`t ever really think they`d score.

I questioned Abdulai being left out but Lennon got it spot on again. We have a seriously top manager and I think there`s a chance we could actually win the cup. 2 wins away from glory.

Winning the `61 and `68 cup finals, beating Everton, Valencia, West Brom away, Celtic 2-0 at Parkhead, beating Souness` Rangers...

Dunfermline 3 Aberdeen 0

Yep, this result is right up there!

Incredible night. The last time I remember an evening game as good as that was when we beat Hearts 3-1? Crawford megging Pressley and scoring.
I dragged my diehard Rovers brother in law along last night, he will deny it of course but he got completely sucked into the game and cheering us on. That wore off on the way home, now having kittens about his lot playing us next week!

To a man, we were fantastic last night. Aberdeen were nothing short of an embarrassment. Olly Thomas has been a bit like Morrison in the way he has been playing quite well but needing a goal and he picked the right game to grab it. I’m so happy for Lenny and the team. Glad we didn`t knee jerk when we went through our purple patch.
Amade and Gomour, as deeper midfielders, worked a treat, as both looked back to their best. Turley is a real talent. Over all a great night for the club. Let`s get our allocation at Hampden sold out and back the boys.

EDIT: Just seen the Pars Supporters Trust video of the players walking off the park. How happy Abdulai is just to be a part of this club shows how powerful football can be.

There has been times when this team has lacked character, resilience and leaders and they have struggled to be cohesive this season.

They really showed it tonight and what a stage to do it! The potential is there, a few players might have even got themselves noticed last night.

I’ve been watching the Pars since 1972. I can’t recall a more comprehensive win against a side from a higher division.
Help me out here.

With a young and inexperienced squad, you have to accept that there will be rough patches. But on the flip side, we have assembled a good group of players who, on their day, can compete with Premiership opposition. The model seems to be working.

The way we play helps against open teams. When teams park the bus we struggle to break them down as that ain`t really our style of play

Cmon ye pars

A night that will live long in the memory......

I was going to post this, word for word, JTH. 😁

Every single player played his part, as did Neil Lennon. His team selection and tactics were spot on. Let`s not diminish the performance of our team by focussing on the limitations of our opponents. You can only play as well as the other team allow you to and we limited Aberdeen to a good opening 10 mins in each half. We could have won by 4 or 5 and they were lucky to get 0.

How funny was it at the end when the Aberdeen players were instructed to go over and applaud the few fans who had stayed behind? They certainly weren`t returning the applause, and the players were reluctant to get too close to them. 😀

Have to also give some credit to those involved in recruitment. Of the January additions of

Morrison
Thomas
Turley
Oxborough
Carey

...you`d have to say 4 out of 5 have contributed massively over the last few games. It`s taken time for some to get going but that`s a really high hit rate.

Easily the best we have played all season, the whole team were so good that I feel it very difficult to pick out 1 player for Mom. Wow, what a game, so happy this morning.

I thought Andrew Tod was going to repeat that goal last night. Was almost a carbon copy !
