Topic: Celtic fans should be banned from semi final

If you want to ban fans from the semi final for entering the field to celebrate then we’ll have no fans either! Although we weren’t as bad as Celtic we still jumped onto the pitch! Celtic fans were celebrating- it was the Rangers fans that actually caused the problem

Used to be a time when fans policed ourselves to stop recriminations happening.
I’ve long thought that any decent Rangers or Celtic fans would be dealing with the ultras in their stadiums.

I’m not saying you’re wrong here mate, but in a world where fans become abusive, aggressive and threatening when you point out they are sitting in the wrong seat, then it’s understandable why fans (like myself) don’t want to go down the “self policing” route.

I said it in a SNW thread before Christmas, but this will not change until clubs stop taking the cheap option by contracting stewards, many of which are just happy to stand and do nothing, and start paying the price for police to actually police games, IMHO.

Are you a Celtic appologist, you obviously havent seen the videos of what went on on Sunday ,both are as bad as each other, and both are a cancer in Scottish football.

Correct painting Celtic here as an injured party is nonsensical - their provocation lit the blue touch paper. On the alcohol front a simple solution alcohol allowed at all league/cup matches unless the Old Firm are one of the teams
It would be entirely apt as they were the reason for the ban in the first place

If Celtic fans stayed in the stand, would rangers fans have been on the park? I’d argue not a single one would have went on. Not that it’s right, but it wasn’t innocent celebrating.. it was goading and antagonistic. They knew what they were doing. Both sides were as bad as eachother 100%. The balaclavas need banned, ridiculous that they’re allowed entry with them on. Proper searches at the gate not just a quick pat down. Police infront of the sections instead of minimum wage stewards who barely speak English.

Have a look at the images of the Brooomloan Stand and try keep a straight face when saying it wasn’t the Celtic fans fault as much as Rangers fans…….

" It’s the vile sectarian singing from both sides"

meanwhile...

"Obviously you are not a Tim"

nope no sectarianism here

Spotted that as well. H*n also written here pretty commonly, admin do nothing about it. Maybe we should have a look at ourselves first ?

This seems to be a point we’re missing plenty on here. Everyone was happy to jump on the shocking scenes from last week, but we’ve completely brushed over our own fans knocking a steward over and running onto the pitch after every goal against Aberdeen.

The scenes inside and outside Ibrox were diabolical and have deserved all the public criticism they’ve received. My worry is that we’ll see trouble again at the game this weekend, and most definitely against Falkirk.
Given our history, can we really be screaming about other fans’ behaviour without having a bit of a red neck about it?

This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it.

It has not gone unnoticed that our fans are not innocent when it comes to encroaching on the pitch. On last night`s political programme `Debate Night` on BBC Scotland the scenes at the OF game was the first question. The point was made that OF fans were not the sole offenders and we were cited as another example. Increased publicity from our Cup exploits has its downside apparently.

I don`t think it would be difficult to identify our fans who went on the pitch as it was in front of the cameras. Perhaps we should be proactive before areas of our ground are shut. A ban for these fans for home and away games for the rest of the season would send out a message.
Failing that we will see the same on Saturday and as we have a big end to the season will be a regular occurance

I have friends who are Celtic fans. They refer to themselves as Tims and will say "So and so is a good Tim."

Not sure why some folk think that`s a sectarian jibe.

Eta. They also regularly sing "I'm no a Billy, I'm a Tim" at games.

Not your average Sunday League player.
