They have been given permission by St Mirren to speak to Stephen Robinson.

Hilarious. Months of chasing every possible foreign coach and interviews they`ve decided to go for the coach down the road. No wonder Dons fans are raging.

Losing to the Pars has made them realise how dire their situation is!

I’ve read a few Aberdeen fans mention Lennon. I honestly think he wouldn’t be interested. He’s good a good gig here and we are on the up. Aberdeen are going nowhere.

Going after Robinson shows a complete lack of ambition by Aberdeen.

I honestly don’t think there are any team in Scotland that would make him leave at this current moment. He’s not going to the old firm or hearts anyway. I do wonder what will be the next step for Lennon. I’d like to see him in charge of the national side. That would be controversial though considering how many muppets are involved in Scottish football.

Strange one considering they had a prospective new manager ditting with the Sporting Director at a game 7 days ago.

That makes no sense at all to me. St Mirren are one game away from another cup final. Why lose your manager now.

Agreed, Zod. Pressure of expectations would be much higher at Pittodrie. Pars would be happy to reach the Premiership and consolidate our place. Aberdeen think they should be challenging for the title and winning cups.

I think Lennon has had enough of all that comes with a high pressure job. He could be sacked in a month.
Too much pressure and he doesn`t need it.
He has won titles and cups. Dunfermline is a new challenge for him. Here he has a chance to truly build a legacy.
At a top club he will soon be forgotten and just be one of many managers rarely mentioned again.
If he succeeds in developing and maintaining the Pars into a top 6 team, he will get legend status and be spoken about for years to come.
Shades of Jock Stein I recon.

I think if we somehow do the unthinkable and reach the SC Final and make the playoffs, then vultures will be circling. Regardless of the "project", his head will be turned by the right club.

Something in his contract meant they had to accept.

I think Robinson would be a fantastic appointment for Aberdeen, but jeezo, they have made a meal of things. I know St.Mirren have had a bad time of it recently, but he’s a good manager who knows how to build and team and has done well at Motherwell & St.Mirren.

As for the comments about Lennon…..there’s very little loyalty in football these days, I’d imagine if a club like Aberdeen wanted him he would at least have a chat. I’m not sure his face fits at that level just yet (his record since Hibs hasn’t been great) but who knows in the next year or two.

I’ve no doubt Lennon has a big ego that needs stroked but as it stands, he’s won nothing with us so he’ll want to have some kind of legacy to fall back on should he eventually leave.
He seems to be a manager that wants to finish a project before moving on.
I think that is promotion to the premier league regardless of how we do in the cup.
