“There really is no benefit finishing 3rd or 4th”

Huh?
A play off spot with a chance to go up to the Premiership isn’t a benefit?

Which you get for finishing 4th.

Finishing third let`s us play the second leg of the play-off at EEP.

The point being made is it worth jeopardising the health/fitness of your key players chasing 3rd v’s having them fresh and fit for the playoffs.

We know it’s 100k more and we know the 2nd leg is at home but Lenny (understandably) looks to be placing more importance on getting to the PL rather than finishing 3rd.

I think promotion this season is a big ask. For me its about continuous improvement. The issue is really around the SFA, the league structure and the numbers of games clubs are expected to play in a short time. The unintended consequence of the more success you have the more games you play and the more likely you are to pick up player injuries. Thats a facet of the football structure in this country. NL is a winner with a winning mentality so these types of challenges that are out of your control must be frustrating. To be honest, I would have hoped that a draw was a feasible result against PT, but thats football. Whatever pans out over the next few weeks, I see considerable improvement over previous seasons both players and collectively as a team. We do have players injured but that presents opportunity for other players to step up and take the chance that comes their way.

Thinking back to the Ayr game…was it not Abdulai who had a groin issue and JCM finished the game?

I’m fairly sure Mullen was just rested yesterday and he’ll start the semi. It’s Abdulai and Tod that are more of a concern for me. No mention of a scan for Abdulai.

Could it just be mind games?

Im not so sure its mind games. Falkirk could just send someone to scout our training sessions to see who is fit and who isnt.

I also don`t think it`s mind games. If it were Neil Lennon deserves an Oscar.

Falkirk lineup vs Rangers today looks full strength. Hopefully they pick up a few knocks!
