It was heartening to see such a makeshift team with so many young players keep playing football and get their reward in the end. NL seems to have introduced a way of playing throughout the club everyone is comfortable with. He was just as pessimistic as he was last Saturday about the prospect of JCM and AT being involved this Saturday though but why play Cooper for 90 minutes if we`re short of strikers? Abdulai looked good in midfield and it was a huge difference with Amade came on for Tash. Kearney had a mixed game, Thomas beat him easily for the first goal but he was better second half and involved in our first. Bray was lively and produced a great assist for the second goal. Hope Turley is ok, he wasn`t playing well before the injury, but has shown before he can be very effective. Cooper much better second half as well. McLeoad looked composed and put in a few good crosses, Davidson looked good at times bringing the ball out of defence. Terrell had little chance with either goal. I`ve also always liked Mochrie, he could do some serious damage in a better team. Reply |

Midfield was a bit non-existent before Amade came on. There were always going to be mistakes but the little flashes of brilliant football always make up for that. Cooper, Bray, Kearney, Fyfe all deserve mentions. I was thinking how I would`ve felt a year ago watching an away game at Airdrie with what was essentially a reserve line up...I would`ve been dreading it. However last night I didn`t. It just goes to show how far the entire club has moved on, not just the first team. For the record the second goal was so offside it was almost funny. I was sitting in perfect line with it. Unbelievably poor officiating. I wish the shot from Cooper had gone in where he brought out a fantastic point blank save from their keeper at the back post. The build up was a joy to watch. Author: king lad Date: Wed 15th Apr 2026. 10:52 Delighted for them, I think as a club just professionalism wise we seem so much further along than where we were a year ago or so before Lennon came in. He`s really shifted the culture around obviously with the backing of the new owners. Some really promising academy players coming through, Fyfe has impressed me whenever I`ve seen him play and the other young guys are developing nicely. Not only that, but for the first time in what feels like years, the team seems capable of scoring at will even when they fall behind by a goal or two. The number of times in previous years that you were almost resigned to a loss as soon as they lost the first goal, that`s really shifted and now we`re joint 2nd top scorers in the league with Thistle. There was a passage of play where the Airdrie boy just passed it out and another Airdrie boy just took the through in. Play on! There was also a ball into the box and one of the players went down under pressure. I don’t think it was a penalty but clearly came off the chest of the Airdrie defender and the referee gave an Airdrie goal kick. Multiple very strange decisions last night for sure. Reply |
