Perfectly happy with the recruitment so far, especially as we have now signed a goalkeeper.

We have a number of young players who should progress from last year - Lennon has already referred to both Bray and Kearney. We lost 4 players we wanted to keep and a number of others that were surplus. We’ll have to see how the new recruits get on, but given that we are still to add to the squad happy with how things are progressing.

Rather we took the approach we have rather than the likes of Raith who seem to be signing players who underperformed at the team the manager previously managed.

I think we probably still have a fair bit of business to do, in and out.

I`m happy with the signings we have made but don`t think it`s a title challenging squad just yet. It`s maybe not been the `big push in the summer` we might have hoped for given the extra income last season?

I`d say from how far ahead Partick were last season, and the business they have done, that they are strong favourites. Livi are an unknown to me.

We did also have a family bereavement to contend with and our results were certainly impacted. Not saying this was a major factor but did hold us back. Like many sports it’s all about small margins across multiple factors. I am confident the foundations are firmly in place and we can ensure we are either top or a few points off who happens to be at any stage of the season.

I’m the total opposite, I look at the players left from last year and think it’s a solid foundation to build on, and the new recruits look positive and solid additions to continue their development and development of the squad. I think it’s good enough to push Livi & Partick for the top spot, but it’s not yet perfect.

I would rather we went down this route than sign “names” on their way down from the PL or worn out Championship jobbers. You need Scottish league experience, all but 1 of our additions have that, and they need to be ready to work hard and develop.

Couple of spaces still remain, but I genuinely think we have a chance this year 🤞🏻

3/5 of our new signings we`ve paid compensation for as well. I think the signings we`ve made have been really solid this summer so far, especially when you look at the other teams in the league (maybe apart from Thistle who have made 2-3 good additions).

Musa is a big goalie and I think will be a better option than Terrell, I suspect Lennon will still want someone else in to avoid what happened in the playoffs. Maybe if Ox becomes available. Impressed from what I`ve seen out of Corbally, a very positive midfielder with a fair bit of experience already for his age.

Oli Shaw makes sense up front, an experienced striker and someone with an eye for goal who can hopefully feed off the service when we`re missing Kane. Robinson can cover LCB or LWB, so I assume he`s coming in to replace Ngwenya. Cleall-Harding is a bit of a wild card and may take some time to adjust but he`s a big unit and seems steady on the ball for his age.

Plenty to be positive about and we`re certainly in a much better position than this time last season

Geordiepar makes a good point about the potential of younger players improving. Very few posters factor this in when anticipating how the squad will perform in the coming season. It seems to be assumed that they`ll stagnate at best and we need to look to new players for overall improvement. He mentions Bray and Kearney but in a relatively young squad there is also potential for improvement in the likes of the Tods, Fraser, Amade, Macleod, Terrell, Davidson and Fyfe.

Nah I agree with you sjapar I don’t know what Neil’s doing in the country he should be over in America signing up mbappe and Haaland

Too many of our fans just think that we’re a better look than we are at least the new owners are putting in the money so it looks like we’re getting to pay higher wages but it still only looks like enough to cover championship players as we’re still losing our players to lower end of the prem but again we’ve spent more time in league 1 than the prem in recent history it’s a hard sell to anyone a project only works when it works anything else and it’s a failure we’re building a team to challenge for the title not win it by 50 points it’s just not possible

Everyone looks at proven players and think we that’s who we should be going after well they all had to start somewhere still think people on here if told we could sign the next world superstar would be saying no he’s not played first team football

I know we lost players but I look at last season and say keeper errors killed us looks like we’ve went and got someone to try and sort that and looks like we are replacing the players we have lost so I would say we’re on the right track

On the start of last season who would have thought;

1. We would have reached the SC final and a 17 year old would come on and hit the bar
2. A Tod would be training with the national team
3. We would have several players representing their country at U21 and national level
4. KN would establish himself in tge 1st team
5. Several players would have standout performances for the club.

You have to balance negatives with positives. I think JCM and KN have performed professionally but it was always likely they would move on. The contracts were a throwback to the clubs position and fight for survival the season before. The positive for me is that we have more potential this season balancing opportunity for younger players to get first team experience against a push for promotion. From the signings so far, I think we have done that and I think its going to be an exciting season ahead. The younger players are a year older with regular championship experience so should improve. I dont see J Tod as a bombscare as has been suggested. That boy will go on to represent Scotland at some level in a couple of years time if we get promoted as will players like Robbie Fraser in my view.
