Thought Cleall-Harding and Tod played really well and Ox looked pretty assured as usual (definitely not a foul for the goal though). I thought Amade and Corbally were both pretty neat, but we missed Gilmour presence. Will be interesting to see who starts next week I’d probably lean towards Corbally/Gilmour. Kearney didn’t do anything wrong but I think he lacks the power to get past a full back and often ends up coming inside if he can’t get an early cross in. Think Morrison will find himself back on the bench. Barely touched the ball! Couldn’t have got a better draw either - not that County will be an easy game, but of the seeded teams you’d be hoping for them at home. Lennon doing a great job with all these cup upsets. Think most Pars fans fancied our chances today despite St Mirren being comfortable favourites with the bookies. Reply |

I thought we defended brilliantly after we settled into the game. Saints looked like less a threat as the game went on and we looked more a threat last 20 minutes. Cup draw is at home and Lennon knows Ross County are a different breed this season so it will be a test. Our players rose to the challenge today so let’s enjoy the night. Author: Buster_Brown Date: Sun 26th Jul 2026. 18:49 On the way home today, my son said, “Dad, this time last year we were at Dunfermline v Stirling at East End.” It immediately took me back to that game and made me realise just how far we’ve come in a year. Today, I thought we looked every bit a Premiership side, and so many players can hold their heads high. The effort levels were outstanding. We’ve completely changed the way we play, we look like a proper footballing team now, and I genuinely can’t wait for the league season to get underway next week. Talking of footballing sides, St Mirren have changed the way they play as well. Had the referee managed the game a little better, I think it could have been a proper spectacle. Too often it was broken up by St Mirren’s streetwise antics. If Murdoch had stamped that out earlier, the game would have flowed much better and been a real cracker. I genuinely don’t know where to start summing it all up, so I’ll just say this: from the starting 11 to every substitute who came on, we looked really good. St Mirren had long spells of possession, but I never really felt they looked like scoring. Once we’d worked out how they were trying to play out from the goalkeeper and when to start the press properly, they really struggled to get out. From then on, it felt like it was only a matter of time before we scored. From where I was sitting it looked a stonewall penalty, although we’d already had a couple of other big shouts that looked just as clear, so it was more relief than anything when Murdoch finally pointed to the spot. Once again, I’m absolutely delighted and can’t wait to get up to Inverness next week. The season has started with a bang, and if we can produce performances like that more often than not, I genuinely think we’re in for a very positive season. 🇾🇪 Loving You, Is In My DNA Reply |

On disallowed goal from behind the goal camera angle looks like goalkeepers hands are on the ball and st Mirren player dives into it and keeper recklessly and he falls over No problem any ref giving a foul there - fine if it’s one of those if VAR thought different but that wasn’t in play here. The St Mirren Goal should have stood as their player got to the ball before Ox, but we should have had a penalty for high feet. Murdoch a bit erratic with his yellow cards also. The penalty was a penalty so don`t think anyone can complain about that Reply |

It is a weird scenario though I suppose. Anything that went in our favour was always going to have someone saying something. Reply |

He failed on many occasions to play advantage and at least two of the yellow cards weren’t warranted. He was bad for both sides though. Their ‘goal’ should have stood. There was no foul and OX played a blinder acting injured. But we should have had a penalty earlier with a clear kick to the head so it evened itself out. Author: king lad Date: Sun 26th Jul 2026. 20:55 The problem is as soon as Murdoch makes a poor decision in our favour for the disallowed goal you`re going to get that backlash, along with the penalty (a stonewaller that he got correct). Some St Mirren fans are deflecting from the fact their team essentially did nothing with the ball the whole game, felt similar to watching a Tidser or Grant team going forward much of the time. Lennon got it spot on, despite us not having a great deal of the ball in the first half, Amade and Rudden had a couple of good shots saved and in the second half the team grew into the game and really dominated the latter period. I think getting Ox back and bringing Robinson in (despite still being pretty young himself) has helped add a wee bit of experience for Tod and SCH who were both terrific today. Hopefully it sets us up well for the start of the league and what`ll be a difficult fixture away to Inverness next weekend. Reply |

It proves NL is building a decent squad and he`s still hoping to strengthen for the League season. Reply |

Author: Jacko Par42 Date: Mon 27th Jul 2026. 00:54 I think the ref realised that he messed up when he never gave us a free kick and played an advantage (which there never was any) and then gave us a free kick when the scored for a foul on Ox. But then to not award a penalty for the high boot when anywhere else on the pitch it’s a foul. So for there gaffer to come out and say he was biased is very poor and should rightly be served with a fine and touch line ban Reply |

Ironically he did get to the ball first unlike Ox yesterday. In the hope that Kearney is fit for next week( McLeod his replacement did well ) this was an ideal final test to go into our 1st league game. Reply |
