The game was at EEP and there were strong claims that the ref in question, Gavin Duncan, who awarded Falkirk a penalty, was himself a Falkirk fan. Some Pars fans contacted the SFA questioning the ref`s neutrality but were assured he had no allegiance to our arch rivals! Reply |

Author: Par Date: Mon 27th Jul 2026. 08:13 The ref we had on Tuesday Abbie Hendry was one of the best I have seen for a while, she had control of the game and the players, hopefully she will progress up the ranks. Murdoch done nothing for the Ex Players will make good referees argument, he looked out his depth. Reply |

Seemed card happy and then that decision. Penalty was a penalty all day long so don`t think anyone can compain about that. Easy to see why St Mirren finished in the bottom 2 and only survived via the play off final. Can see them struggling again this season - didn`t think they offered very much despite some periods of possession. Funny how this cup works out - def rather have a difficult but very winnable home draw than away against one of the gruesome twosome. We won`t make any money next round as can`t see tv taking our game & County will likely bring their usual paltry support, but if we can get through, who knows ...... Funny the difference 3 weeks can make!! COYP πππΌ COME ON YE PARS! Reply |
| 147. Author: Jeffery Date: Mon 27th Jul 2026. 09:06 For the not given penalty to St Mirren, it looked like he gave a free kick for the dive by the forward? I certainly thought simulation. As has been said, Murdoch was inconsistent in the calling of fouls, issuing of cards, and in not pulling play back when there was no advantage. I posted above at half time that I thought he was trying hard not to appear biased. Surprised he gave us any penalty but it was a stonewaller. McLeish`s post match comment should earn him a ban. We were obviously going to go for it in the last 10 minutes and he subbed a bunch of kids on. St Mirren were a poor shadow of the cup winning team so it sounded like sour grapes. Reply |

Author: Indiapar1 Date: Mon 27th Jul 2026. 10:00 I thought he didn`t give the St Mirren a goal on s couple of factors mentioned above, he played advantage when there wadn`t reallyone and should have pulled it back, but also simulation - diving. He blew the whistle when he dived, before the ball went into the back of the net. G Wardrope Reply |
| 149. Author: GJS93 Date: Mon 27th Jul 2026. 11:06 he didnt book the player so that should rule out a dive, going to presume he thought Oxborough had his hands on the ball which is then deemed to be in control, the forward kicks the ball out of his hands which is the foul. the biggest laugh though is a small group of StMirren fans before the game wanting to beg their board to get the league to vote on removing VAR for the season yet complaining there was no VAR for the game yesterday...... Author: Dart Date: Mon 27th Jul 2026. 11:09 All this talk of referees and their "neutrality" reminds me of the episode of "Inside No.9" set in the referees` changing room (although for once the no.9 doesn`t refer to a place number). The show`s writers stated that the club mascot ("What creature are you supposed to be?") was inspired by Sammy the Tammy. Worked with him in the Prison Service for a few years and can 100% confirm heβs a Falkirk fans. Bumped into Craig Charleston at a Scotland game a few years back and he has a Falkirk tattoo on his leg. Good guy up for the banter. Loving You, Is In My DNA Reply |
