For your average motorist worth a used car it won`t be noticeable but for someone buying a new fossil fuel vehicle it will be. I`ve never understood why the Tories changed the banding in 2017. It meant someone worth a used car with a relatively low emission vehicle would pay £20 if bought in March but £190 if bought a month later. Absolute nonsense. Same car, same engine, same emissions. The problem will be what happens when more and more people move to electric vehicles and there`s a loss of tax from fossil fuels and VED. I`m sure a new tax will have been invented by then though.
