Was only one shot off the lead in the TPC but now 3 behind Fitzpatrick. British winner hopefully.

Yes, I noticed that BPP, top of the leaderboard of a field of 130 odd top class golfers. Could be in great form for the Masters.

Third round has been suspended due to bad weather with MacIntyre`s lead cut to 2 strokes after 6 holes.

Broke the course record for 36 holes. The way it`s going it could be a 3 round tournament, especially if you take into account a very recent big female tournament. Or it gets finished on Monday, I`d guess 3 rounds as the weather isn`t going to get much better over the next few days, lots of thunderstorms on the way.

If Bob wins he`ll go back up to around 6th in the rankings.

It`s just a shame he`s Scotland`s only hope. Considering how popular golf is in our homeland you`d think a few more players would be capable on the big stage.

Also, if he does win, he`ll have no chance at Augusta next week as its very rare to win two or more in a row (unless you`re Tiger, Rory or Scottie).

Lead now just one stroke as Bob waits to start the delayed fourth round.

Massive eagle at the par 4 17th to give himself a shout. Needs a birdie at the last for a playoff. Coincidentally Spaun again who popped him at the US Open. No heroics Bob, play safe and get a birdie, then win the playoff.

Good safe drive. Now lay up to leave a short pitch, pitch it close and nail the birdie.

Or he could just whack it at the pin for an eagle to win. I think he`s too sensible to try it though.

What a plonker, he didn`t need to do that. Tried to win outright instead of settling for a playoff.

A harsh lesson indeed.

Looks like Bob has blown it already in the Masters, +7 after the first 16 holes. Might have difficulty making the cut.

He put two balls in the water at the par-5 15th hole and carded a 9. According to the BBC report he `could now face disciplinary action after reacting angrily to his performance`.

He has started his second round with a double bogey at the 1st hole!

Noticed the guy walking towards me in Glasgow Botanic Gardens today was Bob McIntyre. As he passed I said "hiya Bob" and he grunted "y`awright". Last time I saw him on TV he was rubbing shoulders with Scotty Scheffler. He was shorter than I imagined. Find it hard to think how he can hit the golf ball so far. Somebody told me he was right handed but plays golf as a leftie.

I still find him totally unlikeable. He was on telly the other day whining about his temper. Comes across as a right c 0ck

I do think, red-star, that he`s a fairly ordinary laddie, who`s found himself with a massive talent and he`s finding it difficult to live with the resulting wealth and fame. With a bit more understanding and maturity he can become a great ambassador for Scotland. I just hope he can get the right people around him. I certainly very much enjoy watching him play.

I remember similar comments about Andy Murray when he started to break through in tennis

I love Bob, he`s great for Scotland. His attitude doesn`t bother me one bit. When he gave the middle finger to the hole he`d just quadrupled I was doing the same thing. He`s like a golf version of Andy Murray and I looooooove Sir Andy Murray. Scottish people aren`t shy about showing their frustrations. It shows he`s human, unlike the other cardboard cut out polite and boring players. His attitude is always aimed at himself or the couse that`s messing with his head, he`s not being a d*ck to other people.

The Masters is a harsh course that needs to be learned. He hit a good second shot onto that hole he quadrupled, he got it on the green but it spun back into the drink. He then played the exact same shot from his dropped ball, no wonder he got angry at himself and the course. I would argue that Rory has a worse attitude as he`s rude and sarcastic in press conferences after a bad round. At least Bob is sensible enough to avoid the press after a bad day to not embarrass himself further.

Feel free to hate him though. Lots of Scots disliked grumpy Monty too but I thought he was great. One of the greatest golfers to never win a major. I can still remember when he had the US Open won but messed it up after a perfect tee shot on the 18th. Due to there still being players on the 18th green he had to wait and kept changing his mind on what club to use, thinking that adrenaline would make him hit the ball harder than he wanted. He ended up short of the green and 3 putting it to finish 3rd or 4th. Not quite Jean Van De Velde but he had it in the bag and blew it. Hopefully Bob can win a couple, he`s certainly good enough.

Bob and Rory are two of 5 top 15 players to pull out of this week`s signature event.
