1. Author: jake89 Date: Sun 17th Nov 2024. 21:07 As I was coming out of ASDA earlier a group of neds were getting kicked out. They were doing that weird bouncy dance like the Hibs casuals did at Falkirk. Absolutely hilarious watching 10 of them trying to act like hard men. Unfortunately, it appears they then went round the back of Pets at Home and set the bins and crates alight. The word is they were also chucked out of Burger King. Is it time the Scottish Government reconsidered both free bus passes and when a person can be charged? I`m sure it looks great if they see crime figures dropping but some of these kids are little psychos. Reply |
2. Author: buffy Date: Sun 17th Nov 2024. 21:12 Crime figures dropping? Christ I wish someone would tell our office and the courts that. Never been so feckin busy. Hope no one was injured from their fire raising. ”Buffy’s Buns are the finest in Fife”, J. Spence 2019” Reply |
3. Author: jake89 Date: Sun 17th Nov 2024. 21:17 If they`re still going up when they`re turning a blind eye to this sort of stuff then God help us all! Maybe if they get caught they`ll get treated to a wee holiday like the vile creature who tortured and killed one of the peacocks? The fire brigade had to come out and put it out. They seemingly checked and the animals inside Pets at Home were fine. Reply |
4. Author: jake89 Date: Sun 17th Nov 2024. 22:11 Even worse now. Police at Cowdenbeath station after a group of kids burst the nose of a conductor and ripped a clump of hair out a woman who intervened. Hope the CCTV was working. Is it a full moon tonight? Reply |
5. Author: veteraneastender Date: Sun 17th Nov 2024. 22:29 There was an official from Unite trade union on radio midweek talking about escalating trouble against staff on buses and saying that extending free bus passes to youths was a significant factor. One driver was killed during an altercation in Elgin in February by a drunken teenager after he being refused entry to the bus. That slipped under my radar then - but it seems consistent with anecdotal stories where kids are abusing the bus pass privilege. UPDATE - the 16 year old is due to be sentenced tomorrow. 6. Author: Dave_1885 Date: Sun 17th Nov 2024. 23:05 As I stated on FB it’s only a matter of time before the adults in society rise up against these wee arseholes and one of them gets seriously hurt. Will lead to the usual “my son’s a darling angel” and “oh it wasn’t him but his pal” b*llocks from the parents. Big issue in this area (Cowden, Lochgelly) at the minute is the dirt bikes flying down the public paths when folk are walking down them. Mrs had our wee one on a path as one went flying down it last week. Need sorted out. Reply |
7. Author: DBP Date: Mon 18th Nov 2024. 07:04 It’s always the same… a few ruin it for everyone. Free bus pass was great for my daughter who used it for a year to travel everyday into a course and volunteering she would never have been able to afford without it. Gave her the entry retirements and life skills needed to get into and hopefully so will at uni Also I’m sure it’s a little perk for many given employers are allowed to pay less to some people for doing the same job based in their age Reply |
8. Author: Playup_Pompey Date: Mon 18th Nov 2024. 08:11 most parents dont give a flying f@lk!rk or could tell you where they are or what they do. The amount of wee @rsehOles that hang about asda/tesco duloch and abuse staff and customers is unreal. Reply |
9. Author: jake89 Date: Mon 18th Nov 2024. 09:51 Playup_Pompey, Mon 18 Nov 08:11 Tesco Duloch was nothing in comparison to what these kids have done. Usually it`s just dafties looking for a chase. They were told this would happen when they opened the McDonalds but a councillor in Leven decided it was fine. The right turn out that drive through should be removed. Reply |
10. Author: Athletico Date: Mon 18th Nov 2024. 10:59 I think Stagecoach are losing drivers by the bucket load, got 2 mates who were drivers, and had been for several years but they have both left within the past 6 months or so. Not worth the abuse, or hassle they get. Reply |

12. Author: jake89 Date: Mon 18th Nov 2024. 12:06 The kid in Elgin was a SECOND offence for assaulting a bus driver. Only 15 and done for assault and now 4 years for culpable homicide. What is wrong with these kids who seem to think it`s fine to cause so much hassle to people simply trying to do a job? Not surprised so many are seeking to leave the profession and surely begs the question of how safe having self driving buses or conductorless trains would be. Reply |
13. Author: LochgellyAlbert Date: Mon 18th Nov 2024. 14:12 Apparently there was a problem on an Edinburgh train over the weekend, people assaulted , police involved. Reply |
14. Author: jake89 Date: Mon 18th Nov 2024. 14:57 LochgellyAlbert, Mon 18 Nov 14:12 Was this not the train that was stopped and Cowdenbeath? A conductor received a bloody nose and a woman who tried to help had her hair ripped out. One lad was seemingly screaming he was going to kick someone`s head in when being put in a police van. Buffy might be busy! Edited to add: I was wondering if it was the same kids? Chucked out of ASDA, chucked out of Burger King, set a fire at Pets at Home and then walk along to Dunfermline QM to catch the train to Cowdenbeath/Lochgelly. I'm not a believer in hitting kids or one to slag off the SNP for no reason, but their legislation on youth crime, combined with COVID (definitely NOT their fault) and free bus travel has created a perfect storm. 16. Author: Dave_1885 Date: Mon 18th Nov 2024. 15:49 jake89, Mon 18 Nov 14:57 Add in absentee parenting to that! If I ever catch my daughter being part of one of these groups when she grows up she will be getting marched round the shops and to the police station myself to be dealt with! Reply |
17. Author: veteraneastender Date: Mon 18th Nov 2024. 19:23 "Add in absentee parenting to that!" Throw in irresponsible parenting to the mix. A few years ago a youth worker in the Council told me that he and a colleague did covert observation of a known trouble spot where minors congregated of a Friday evening for a drinking session. They noted parents driving up and dropping off their kids near the location, along with carry outs. Reply |
