| 1. Author: jake89 Date: Mon 13th Jul 2026. 19:52 It seems like every week there`s a story about youth disorder. The most recent is 4 teens beating **** out of two guys in their 50s. Why is nothing done to sort this out? These kids get "charged" but what does that even mean? Reply |

Someone is going to get seriously hurt,if not already.Get the passes,restricted,to say 5.30 limit.People are linking on social media to cause meet ups to cause trouble.Why can’t the authorities see it? Or is it too anti woke an idea to do anything,to upset a few? I for one,would not go near that place after 6,too many nutters going about. Now that is sad,in my own town. The old boys ended up leathering them. That was probably a good life lesson for them, hopefully they learned from it Reply |

Does that mean we should also limit oap’s to 5:30pm for using their passes as well due to a minority of auld pervs who creep young girls out on busses or is that ok because they ain’t knocking lumps out of folk? Am fed up seeing folk like you suggest a limit on when young folk can use their bus passes because it won’t stop anything all it will do is hold the young people who do use them for what they are meant for back Reply |

Author: Playup_Pompey Date: Tue 14th Jul 2026. 08:28 Not sure what has happened recently whether it be in the town or bus station but noticed the self scan tills at Asda now restrict sales of eggs unless youve been age verified by one of the store staff. clearly an upturn in number of youths buying then to throw at cars/buses/windows. But we`re talking about violent attacks. That`s NOT normal behaviour and in my eyes requires assessment to understand what`s going on. Reply |

Author: Hoolie Date: Tue 14th Jul 2026. 10:38 Agree with Jake, if someone is being violent and aggressive take their pass off them and ban them from the area...if caught put them in the cells for their parents to pick them up. The police need to be more pro active in and around the bus station as there could be a fatality if this is not addressed imo. Reply |

That would send a message to the idiot parents buying them despite the majority being illegal. There`s definitely something needing done about parents too. Yes, you can`t beat your kid senseless like in the 70s, but you can still cut their pocket money, confiscate their devices and threaten them with being kicked out (if over 16). No-one likes handing out punishment but turning a blind eye while your kid is out assaulting people and damaging property makes you complicit in the act IMO. Reply |

Confiscated and lost bicycles used to go to charity that would distribute to kids that couldn’t afford their own. Last I heard that was stopped in the name of COVID but there are moves to restart COYP Reply |

I heard it may be those under the age of 16 that have the restrictions imposed as those above 16 may need the pass for work etc but anyone found guilty should have their pass revoked irrespective of age. Author: jake89 Date: Thu 16th Jul 2026. 16:10 There are loads of groups receiving free buses who have a minority needing them confiscated, but this is specifically about the recent escalation in violence amongst young people at Dunfermline bus station. Regardless of age, anyone who is kicking and stamping on someone`s head should be charged with attempted murder. It`s baffling to me that any right-minded person, particularly a child, would find that behaviour to be normal and acceptable. This isn`t unique to Dunfermline, it`s happening across Scotland. Wouldn’t it just be better to go through the relevant process with the police/CPS? Removing individual rights for individuals feels very communist and it’s a slippery slope. Get arrested for a pub punch up in your 20’s = no bus pass in your 60’s? Like all the attempted murder stuff should be dealt with by the police. I doubt removal of bus pass would be a huge deterrent COYP Reply |
