And if you can have male MPs on the Women’s Select Committee, then I think we can have English MPs on the Scottish Affairs Committee. And yes Desparado, we do indeed live in a democracy. The reason the SNP don’t have much influence is because they lost most of their MPs in an election in July. Reply |

| 6. Author: wee eck Date: Wed 30th Oct 2024. 13:49 What exactly does the SAC cover? Purely reserved matters presumably if it`s at Westminster? Listening to Kemi Badenoch`s interview with Martin Geissler at the weekend, where he asked her if the Union was `voluntary`, she seemed to be saying Scotland`s place in the Union wasn`t just a matter for Scotland. Labour probably feel the same way. I suspect if we were ever granted another independence referendum it would have to include voters from all over the UK. I love these altruistic non-Scots so determined to protect us from ourselves! Reply |

It’s news for a couple of days, and then we lose interest and move on to the next thing. The Kennedy assassination Zapruder footage wasn’t shown on TV until 12 years after the event. So it endures in a way modern news stories don’t. Reply |
