Badenoch has also said that any migration needed for Scotland should come from England and other pastas of the uk

Feels like a deliberate or inadvertent China approach… eg promote core Chinese people to move to an area, so that they counter any rise in separation calls or devolved variance from central gov.

A colonial mindset alive and kicking in the 21st century….Scotland is a country as the late great Alex Salmond said only recently. Unfortunately many so called self respecting proud Scots are quite happy it would seem for Scotland to be just a region. Quite sad really..

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

Nice pun Ted..sadly it will do little to cheer up the doleful dolts on here who laud a so called political giant who failed to achieve his dream.
As for this colonial crap, Scots must be unique in voting to retain that downtrodden status?

Why don`t you just tell us what the benefits of the Union are? It shouldn`t take long.

I wonder who the BBC, those stalwarts of the Union, are referring to in this report?

`Edinburgh University students have been talking about the kind of discrimination they have come across on campus. It comes as the university has warned students from privileged backgrounds not to be "snobs" towards their peers from Scottish and working-class backgrounds. The institution admitted class-related prejudice was a problem on campus. It said individuals from less well-off backgrounds were being "inadvertently or deliberately shamed by more privileged students".

Olivia Gallosi and Roni Sharp told BBC Scotland say they had experienced judgemental attitudes towards being Scottish or having to work. The guidance was issued after the newly-formed Scottish Social Mobility Society complained lecturers and students regularly mocked and mimicked individuals from north of the border.`

It smacks of colonialism to me.

I agree. The perpetrators obviously have an inflated sense of their own importance.

Is this not an old story from a couple of months ago when a number of students spoke out about the disgusting comments being made about Scottish people by the Edinburgh uni students union?

Yeah, it`s like being invited to somebody`s house and crapping on their doorstep. But the Unionists will blame the locals for being parochial.

Free uni? That`s a good one!

(Can someone change the thread title please? It impugns the standard of Scottish education).

Given the Auditor General’s report detailing the making it up as they go along shambolic fiscal incompetence of the Scottish Govt the more funding diverted away from them to the front line the better…

And who is this “English” Govt anyway?

No, I never voted for an English political party,
But I see they won three Scottish by-elections
Yesterday.....obviously the Glasgow electorate prefer an English to a Scottish devolutionist party.....

Tenruh is under the misconception that using incorrect names is witty when it just makes him look a bit daft.

Good to hear he voted Alba though.

I think we need to be clear here that the Scottish Government is best placed to serve the people of Scotland. However, this can only be successful if they LISTEN to them. Unfortunately, I`d argue the SNP government in Holyrood gave far to much weight to listening to the Greens who brought forward half-baked plans that were often simply mjnd-boggling. At the same time, I am FURIOUS at MSPs from the likes of Labour and the Lib Dems voting down bills simply because they were brought forward by the SNP. It`s pathetic and doesn`t work when you have an AMS system, which almost guarantees a coalition or minority government. These MSPs need a boot up the arse. They are pointlessly holding the country back out of sheer pettiness. Everyone should be angry regardless of their views on unionism or independence.

On independence, it`s a great shame to see the cause all but dead as the UK continues to be on a downward trajectory. However, as Tenruh correctly implies, you won`t get independence through the SNP. The fact is you won`t get independence through ANY party right now. SNP are hopeless, Alba are an afterthought, the Greens have proven themselves to be batshit crazy at times.

So, given Scotland will be told to hush for at least the next 5 years, who is going to step up to represent independence?
