I`m all ears... https://wingsoverscotland.com/in-ruins/ https://www.facebook.com/share/1brrmfsan2/ Post Edited (Sat 11 Jan 15:33) Reply |

I was hoping the SNP politician who posts on here would maybe tell us the plan for independence rather than the plan to keep them in jobs with fat pensions by being less than honest with their constituents. 5. Author: DBP Date: Sun 12th Jan 2025. 07:49 tenruh, I think you should be a politician neebur… The way you always avoid answering the question whilst simultaneously kicking another party is as good as you see in any episode of question time Reply |
6. Author: jake89 Date: Sun 12th Jan 2025. 08:27 Still waiting, Tenruh. I know you can`t answer as there is no answer, which you know fine well. Easier to keep sniping from the sidelines though. Did Alba ever publish a plan, or was it also a "trust me bro" assertion on their manifesto? Reply |

8. Author: Tenruh Date: Sun 12th Jan 2025. 09:53 jake89, Sun 12 Jan 08:27 But but but...the SNP have told us they`ll get us independence usually 6 weeks before an election then it`s forgotten about until the next election. Alba or ISP,would it matter if they had a plan they don`t have elected politicians. Reply |
9. Author: jake89 Date: Sun 12th Jan 2025. 10:07 Tenruh, Sun 12 Jan 09:53 Mmmhmm...ignoring the question again. You need to step up from the community council and into big boy politics. Deflection skills like that don`t go unnoticed. Reply |
10. Author: The One Who Knocks Date: Sun 12th Jan 2025. 10:35 Maybe if Alba or ISP had a plan then they`d manage to get more elected officials. As it was they didn`t have a plan hence why Hanvey and MacAskill got booted out by the voters at the last election. And although my eyes were open They just might as well be closed Reply |
11. Author: wee eck Date: Sun 12th Jan 2025. 10:43 Just heard John Swinney on the radio. There now seems to be an intention to establish some sort of formalisation of the conditions under which Scotland would be entitled to hold a referendum rather than depend on the whim of the Westminster government. He drew the comparison with N Ireland. I think that could be quite a fruitful route to explore. The present situation isn`t democratic. Reply |
12. Author: jake89 Date: Sun 12th Jan 2025. 11:03 Maybe I missed it, but I don`t think Alba have ever had an elected MP or MSP? Aren`t they all SNP defectors? Good to hear Swinney has a plan and I hope it`s a real plan rather than just words. It`s also good to hear parties like the Greens are coming back around the table on the development of a National Cars Service. I still find it utterly ridiculous that Scottish Labour is playing party politics on this service while throwing their weight behind it in England. Sarwar has to realise he`s killing Labour with this approach. Reply |

14. Author: Tenruh Date: Sun 12th Jan 2025. 11:21 wee eck, Sun 12 Jan 10:43 Don`t believe a word he says eck..remember he wasn`t voted into the position of FM by either the electorate or SNP membership. He`s there to keep a lid on all the alleged behaviour of the party official`s. Even though it's looking like Murrell is going to be the patsy going by the SNP comic the national. 15. Author: wee eck Date: Sun 12th Jan 2025. 11:42 Tenruh, you`re one of these posters on here who would suck the hope out of everyone. I can`t remember the last time you made a positive point. All you do is repeat old grievances and fight old battles. You come across as a very bitter person and that`s a hard position to make any progress from. I find it very hard to believe that you actually want independence. Reply |
16. Author: jake89 Date: Sun 12th Jan 2025. 12:00 I`m pretty much in the Tenruh camp of "I`ll believe it when I see it." But it at least sounds like a positive step. I would hope there are learnings from votes in Catalonia and UK (Brexit). As it stands today, Scotland would vote (marginally) for independence. Any vote would have to be a proper one rather than advisory (as it was in Catalonia) but the outcome would likely be similar to Brexit with one side royally cheesed off. There are various issues that would need to be clarified around currency and trade among other things. Based on the last attempt, it would appear England will play the role of the spurned lover who will reject any compromise so Scotland would need to establish viable seaports and an alternative to the pound. I can only speak for my generation, but we couldn`t care less what currency we use as we rarely see physical cash anymore. The older generation might cling to a need to see the Kings head on it though. A hard border will need to be an accepted. Will this impact on people living in places like Northumbria and the Scottish Borders? Yes, but the Borders vote Tory so who cares? 😂 Reply |
17. Author: Tenruh Date: Sun 12th Jan 2025. 12:00 wee eck, Sun 12 Jan 11:42 Comment from the article referring to the new SNP thinking for independence. Why did I not think of that ? John Swinney is reported in the press today as “calling for NI-style trigger for an indyref”. Everyone, including John Swinney, knows perfectly well that this is just whistling in the dark to try to keep up his spirit and those of his deluded supporters. This is a reserved matter and every MP at Westminster, except the small number of SNP members, would vote against such a measure. Just more empty talk, John – we need some action instead. 20. Author: Tenruh Date: Sun 12th Jan 2025. 12:39 wee eck, Sun 12 Jan 12:18 The SNP are a devolutionist party, and that`s why they`ll not do anything about independence . How many man hours collectively has our SNP MP and MSPs had in the last 10 years to develop a plan for independence ? Tens of thousands possibly and what have they achieved nothing and you want me to come up with a plan..ha ha. Reply |
