Author: Luxembourg Par Date: Tue 6th May 2025. 12:28 The One Who Knocks, Tue 6 May 00:02 I kinda thought he meant ‘climate change will never be affected by Britain’… Meaning that our efforts make hee-haw difference when the likes of China/India/USA are pumping out so much. Even if UK went completely net-zero, the difference would be negligible. ![]() Post Edited (Tue 06 May 12:28) Reply |
44. Author: Alter Ego Date: Tue 6th May 2025. 13:18 Yeh sorry that is what I meant Lux. Britain is tiny and anything this country does will never help climate change unless the big countries stop all their pollution. Mon the Pars! Reply |
45. Author: Wotsit Date: Tue 6th May 2025. 17:02 Britain is huge in terms of consumption. We are therefore hugely polluting for our population, the UK has the sixth biggest economy in the world, meaning that a smaller change can have bigger results. Obviously we`re not China or the US, but we do have a significant part to play. Worth mentioning that not so long ago we would have been formulating our emissions policy as part of a much bigger bloc and would have had a say on what happens with emissions for the whole EU. 46. Author: Alter Ego Date: Tue 6th May 2025. 21:07 All Britains industry has gone so where does the country even have a percentage of pollution? How will Britain make a difference? Has anyone been to China/India? Mon the Pars! Reply |

48. Author: wee eck Date: Wed 7th May 2025. 00:14 It doesn`t seem to be a very noble stance to say `we`re only a minimal contributor to emissions, let`s leave it to the big contributors to deal with climate change`. Aren`t all countries that import stuff from China partly responsible? Reply |
49. Author: Andrew283 Date: Wed 7th May 2025. 09:14 We also ship a lot of our emissions abroad. Can`t be burning all that rubbish in the UK Reply |

55. Author: buffy Date: Wed 7th May 2025. 22:05 Couple of warm days? Temps over 30° for nearly two weeks with the overall July, August and September temperatures warm. This spring so far has been the warmest on record. It’s been three weeks so far and is predicted to go on for at least another two weeks. ”Buffy’s Buns are the finest in Fife”, J. Like u said, the tele will tell you that you`re allowed to notice it soon, you can wait until then. I don`t wanna go down like disco. Reply |
57. Author: Dandy Warhol Date: Thu 8th May 2025. 07:21 On a side note, get folks to install solar panels then dim the sun, make it make sense. It`s had a massive impact on bees, climate change/climate manipulation. I don`t wanna go down like disco. Reply |
58. Author: Wotsit Date: Thu 8th May 2025. 08:05 It`s not what we make that causes the emissions, it`s what we consume. Obviously, Britain`s manufacturing sector is dead, and has been since the 1980s at least, so there are fewer emissions from goods manufactured in the UK. Our emissions happen in China, Bangladesh and everywhere else the goods we consume are manufactured. The laws of supply and demand are in play after all.
