7. Author: Sierra Nevada Date: Fri 9th Mar 2018. 22:10 On there rare occasion that I have had a chippy, the Dalgety Bay one is has been the best. I live just along from the Brigg at Nethertown and dropped in last week when the snow came down. Food was poor. They really need to up their game. Reply |

9. Author: OzPar Date: Fri 9th Mar 2018. 22:16 Going back in history to the '60s and '70s, the fish and chip shop next to the old bus station used to make the best post-match fish suppers in the universe. Forgotten its name, but I think it was Italian. Don't know if it's the oil they use these days or whether it is that they don't wrap them in newspapers anymore or simply it is that your tastebuds change as you get older, but fish suppers don't have the appeal they used to. Here in Oz, the fish is very different - they call it flake, but is generally believed to be shark. Reply |

16. Author: average white par Date: Sat 10th Mar 2018. 07:57 It was indeed the Stance, DBS... good chippy as I recall and a complete time warp of a place... every time I was in there I felt like an extra in "Quadrophenia".. Reply |
17. Author: kelty_par Date: Sat 10th Mar 2018. 09:01 Must have been very unlucky as when I tried the Dalgety Fish Bar the better on the fish was mushy and the chips were firm. Willing to give them another go though. Used to like the Brig but they seem to be quite expensive and not as good quality. Marini's on Aberdour Road is pretty good and they do good grilled burgers of that's your thing. Armando's is good too of you like old school stuff. The one in Kincardine was always good for a sit in but I think they had a fire? Reply |
