Gennaros is the best in west Fife, for Fife overall I would go for Pittenweem by a whisker from Anstruther. My favourite other one in Scotland would be the one in Portknockie

I always liked the brig from way back when there was also the sweetie shop. The woman that ran the show had no concept of health and safety.

Cadora used to do an excellent Fish Supper back in the day, used to go most weeks when I lived in Divit about 10 years ago.

Is Gennaro’s still as good as it was? Sadly, Gennaro no longer with us.

The wife behind the sweetie counter used to have really bad eczema- I can remember as a kid picking some bits of her skin off my Soor Plooms. Never wore gloves in those days.
Raymie, sadly Gennaro is no longer with us, but the guy that works there now knows his stuff

Gennaros is excellent as a chippy. Their pizzas are not the best at all, but the chippy stuff is very good.

It's common knowledge that Lionel Messi kept a photo of Hamish French by his bedside as inspiration every morning!

The Golden Chip in Pilmuir St. was always my fave, probably because I lived nearby and it was therefore conveniently located... I even mind when it was the Golden Bird...
I returned to that chippy after an absence of 25 years and, while the layout was a bit different, the chips tasted EXACTLY THE SAME... cracking chippy...

I used to detest the Golden Chip/Bird.

Halbeath is probably best.

Was the Golden Bird and Golden Chip not 2 separate businesses.
One on Pilmuir St the other on St Leonard's Street?

I was told a long time ago that the reason the golden chip was so good was that they used different oil to other chippies.
I want to say peanut oil but it was a few years ago so I could be havering the awfiest keech.

The one in Pilmuir Street I should add.
Don't know if it ever changed its name as I've not used it for probably 15 years.
