Imagine the excitement of standing in a bar with a clicker counting people.

If you need a clicker to count to 45…

I use Charlie D`s, in fact I was in before yesterday`s game. Then Legends after the game. Result and performance aside the craic with friends and associates was great as usual.

I like the atmosphere, the people and the music in Charlie D`s, which has been a fixture for over a decade so any Pars fans using the hospitality facilities knows this. The regularity of it`s opening has been sporadic due to staff issues, but it`s open more often or not but it does affect the attendance. It was really busy pre-match against Falkirk and not so much yesterday (however some bored punter seen fit to count 45 which is just over 50% full). Legends post match was also poorly patronised and empty by 7.30pm. Tbh I don`t think anyone should be surprised at poor attendance in any capacity around the stadium on match days just now given what`s going on at the club. But I`ll do my best to keep putting my hard earned cash into the club.
The club have their Ops meeting on a Thursday and decide what facilities are going to be open and (now and again) I`ll ask someone at the club to confirm Charlie D`s is open. Then I`ll find out who`s arranged for providing the music (arranged by a fellow fan for years) and advertise it on the Pars Facebook pages, EEB, P&B and occasionally on here. I don`t think the club give it much consideration compared to other hospitality sections but it`s kinda been organic and left to fans to make of it what they will (to a degree). It works fine and I`ve never had anyone at the club moan about it in any way whatsoever.

To those being critical of the use of the space, criticising the booked artists ability, the insinuation of drunken fans make too much noise, you are of course entitled to your opinion, but my opinion is you`re speaking an absolute load of nonsense. The originator of this thread was in for about 20 minutes yesterday having never been in before and finds it within himself to provide an opinion that was both deliberately provocative and unnecessarily disparaging. I`ve no idea of the motive, but it smacks of puerile reasoning.
If you didn`t like the music, you have a choice to leave, if any fellow fans were getting on your nerves then why not say to them. I was sitting with my wife and friends right next to you and you said nothing apart to ask my wife if the chair next to her was free, which it wasn`t. You could have moved away, but strangely you didn`t.

Just to clarify there wasn`t any issues with behaviour at all and nobody was drunk, mortal, minging, out order, singing over the artist. In fact everyone seemed to enjoy it, apart from you.
Cheer up min.

``What would be better? That`s a genuine question btw. Never been in Charlie Ds before. Sounds like the issue is a bunch of drunk old boys``

``I think the point is that 45 people is low, and some of those in there were ruining it for others. Each to their own but it doesn`t sound great based on that description. I`ve never been in so have no suggestions for improvements. I like a bit of live music but maybe needs to be more awareness of who`s performing? Who was it yesterday?``

You`ve never patronised the bar/space but you`ve made time to make silly unsubstantiated and ill-informed assumptions like those quoted above. Yep, absolute genius.

The absolute state of some of the comments here. Folk slating the place who have either never been, or only been once commenting on whether it should be changed/closed to suit them when they never spend a penny in the place?

It’s busy every match day, and usually you can’t get in beyond 1.30pm, so your suggestion that everyone agrees with you is, quite frankly, utter p*sh.

If you want to rustle a crisp bag and pretend you’re in a library go next door to legends and leave Charlie D’s as it is for the folk that enjoy it.

Only reason it was quiet yesterday is in case you haven’t noticed, the team has been utter dug meat recently. Pretty much the same reason hospitality wasn’t full, there was no match ball sponsor yesterday, and the crowd was about 400-500 down in what it usually is.

Charlie D`s is well known for live music so why should it stop just to suit you?

Just playing devil’s advocate

If it’s only attracted 45 ppl then perhaps it should be changed to attract more?

aye 45 people on a bad day I’ve seen it rammed but 1pm with folk starting to line up outside to get in

It’s all about enhancing the match day experience. As we know the football hasn’t been great but for a lot of people it’s not just about the 90mins on the park. Some of us like to go for a few beers before and after the match. Charlie Ds is known for being a live music venue before pars matches and for the majority of fans that go there that’s what they enjoy. The club want to open Charlie Ds on every home match sometimes they struggle to find the staff. For me the club make every effort for everyone who visits the club to have an enjoyable time. If the team win then that’s a bonus. If some fans don’t enjoy live music in Charlie Ds or a Dj in Legends then in the nicest possible way go elsewhere. I do believe that the majority enjoy having music in both venues. It tends to be the minority that like a moan. I think they are very selfish and putting themselves first before thinking about others or about the club they are supposed to support.

On the point about it being a waste of space at least it’s being used for something these days unlike years ago when it was a supposed a la cart restaurant that was hardly ever used now that really was a waste of space

I mind it being the media room with the wee pop up tvs and plugs under the windows. Ah, the days of actual notebooks and pencils!

I just wish we could welcome in opposition fans to both bars like we used to do, as a few clubs are most likely to invite our fans into their social clubs.

I`m not sure why we can`t have home fans in legends and away in Charlie D`s.

c'mon the pars

Yeah I’ve thought that at times too, Cammy. Perhaps it’s a security issue?

Sure it`s a lockable door? I wouldn`t think it would be too hard to fix if so... Legends only really busy at 1425 onwards.
