Apparently the strip delay is something to do with the size of the sponsor on the strip being wrong.

Not club fault on this occassion but Errea.

Yet, it`s us that placed our trust in Errea? Presumably with other options out there.

not clubs fault but club is recruiting a commercial manager on the day that the strip announcement is postponed.

And surely they could have stuck a prototype on a mannequin, explained the delay but still proceeded with the event and started taking pre-orders instead. Bairns are more excited to see the players and unlikely to worry about the sponsors font size.

You would think the community engagement itself would have perceived value especially just now

Errea supply the kits with the sponsor’s unbranded so not on Errea. I’ve been involved previously with St Johnstone kit supply and it’s always outsourced. DAFC use a supplier in Scotland for doing them.

How there are still people trying to defend Cook and this mess is staggering 😂 no wonder we are so brutal when folk don’t mind that the clown running the show is ballsing up everything he has control over.

The club has gone backwards in his tenure, and as others have said, the experience of going to East End these days is awful compared to 5/6 years ago when we first got back up from League One.

Wait though, will we reveal a player today to ease the worries? Will we f**k!

I`m not trying to defend the club/Cook. I think the guy has been a disaster since he came here and we are a poorly run club.

I`m just relaying what I was told that the mistake was Errea not the club on this occassion.

Don`t see many defending him, just not everyone fancies a pile on every time there`s an issue at EEP.

Would he have been praised today if the kit launch went ahead, out of interest?

Probably not given the club advertised it and it was expected to happen only be to called off the day before. There is people that have taken holidays to take their kids today. If it was our first **** up then the pile on as you call it may not have happened. We haven’t been great for a few years and for some the lack of signings means any mistake the club make will be highlighted. As a club we do ourself no favours.

It`s good to know what his role `should be` but we still don`t know what it is.

It seems all he had to do was get a kit launch right. As far as we can see that was linked to rearranging new sponsorship deals which presumably he was heavily involved in.

Meanwhile he was spearheading our recruitment drive. This could mean anything from identifying targets to deciding how much to pay players or their agents and when exactly to abandon one target in favour another.

Oh, and don`t forget to make sure we have a pitch that`s playable for the new season.

And all he was interested in was `sound bites`. Not so long ago he was accused of lacking any communication with the fans so that must be an improvement.

I wonder how many of us would like to be criticised for our performance by people who don`t know what exactly our employers have asked of us?

It was Cooks decision to go with Errea.

So `those in the know` can`t agree among themselves who is responsible for getting the size of the sponsor`s name right on the kit! Well, the good news must be that we have a sponsor, which some were doubting.

I`ll continue to take everything that`s posted on here with a pinch of salt, especially from those who claim to have inside knowledge. I certainly won`t be screaming for somebody`s head to roll on the strength of it.

As for the CEO`s successes? Again it`s difficult without detailed knowledge but he must have been heavily involved in the sale of the club from the Germans to James Bord & co and it seems he was quite influential in bringing Neil Lennon to the club, according to NL himself. I think he got credit for the Euros Fanzone last year but that may have been a team effort like a lot that goes on behind the scenes.

You say we don’t know what his role is, but then go on to list about five things he was apparently doing. Sounds like you’ve got a pretty good idea of what his remit actually is.

The kit launch was a shambles. No excuses there. We’ve had enough of these PR own goals that it`s no longer just bad luck, it’s a trend. Cook talked a good game about Erreà, and now we’ve ended up worse off than we were with Joma. Fans are right to be angry about that.

But let’s not pretend the CEO’s sitting at his desk stitching shirts and packing boxes. The commercial team failed here, and if Cook’s running that show, then yeah, he also owns that mistake.

Recruitment? it’s the scouting team’s job to identify targets. But if Cook’s job is to make deals happen and we’ve barely signed anyone, then that’s where questions need asked. Either we’re going for players we can’t afford or we’ve not been decisive enough—either way, the squad is worse than last year at the moment.

That’s what leadership is. You get credit when it works, you take flak when it doesn’t. He doesn`t really have a lot of credit in the bank.

Wasn`t it funny how those fan meetings disappeared once the heat got turned up. Communication improved for five minutes when things were rosy and we won league 1. They soon vanished as soon as results dipped. Fans aren’t daft we notice.

End of the day, he’s the CEO. It is his watch. If it all falls apart under his leadership, then he has to answer for it. That`s just the gig.

c'mon the pars

You always post the exact same opinions, you always support the Dave Cook and gloss over all his F ups and you’re always on hand to back each other up.

I’m not convinced this is an Errea problem though…

They’ll manufacture the kit but why would they be responsible for printing another companies logo onto their Errea made tops.

I reckon it’s some local shop that’s messed it up.

Doesn’t excuse the negligence on Us though, ample timing to have sorted all this out.

Having met David cook a couple of times I generally find him quite a decent chap but he’s set some lofty expectations on the direction of the club and sporting performance, if those aren’t met, the buck stops with him.

He has to be commended for any part he played in getting Lennon into the club. The best manager we have had for a long time, but Lennon needs better players and if they don’t arrive soon then we will struggle again. Questions will continue to be asked about recruitment as competitive games begin next week. Hopeful for a turnaround but if this season goes badly then I feel it might be Cooks last.

The CEO is answerable to the board and they are the best judges of whether he is doing the job they charged him with. Everything else is just speculation.

I must say it`s a bit rich somebody as dogmatic as NMCmassive accusing another poster of `always posting the exact same opinions`!
