He deffo would have had a 3 year deal on the table. His people will do the best for him ... so likely he will be gone and sign a pre contract. Lets be clear he isnt the finished article but has more potential than most at EEP.

Some are keepers ( Gilmour) some will move on ( Amade) and we will build the quality over the next 2/3 windows. I expect the january window to be 2 or 3 experienced pros and the summer of 2026 to be a better mix than this summer.

Part of me doesnt want promoted to the SPL until we have a squad 3/4 ready for it ... getting humped each week is no fun.

So lets enjoy our time with him, get top 4 this year , run it close next one and then give it welly as champions

Stopped there. He`s a midfielder.

Personally think JCM has been very disappointing this year.

I think he has been asked to take more responsibility in the game and get forward. Sometimes it will work sometimes not. I personally don`t think he has been disappointing just adding another dimension to his game designed to improve him. Hence I would suspect the call up

JCM has only turned 21 in the summer and he`s still relatively inexperienced, especially at this level.

He has all the attributes to go on and be an outstanding player, you can see that by his international recognition.

Like with a lot of the young guys in the team, they need to be allowed to develop. I think most of his mistakes are just mental errors that he`ll learn from, physically he can absolutely stroll it.

Well done, some experience for the boy!

And only one a years contract?🤔

We had first option as part of the loan agreement. He only needed to sign a 1 year deal, while having other offers on the table. He`ll sign a pre contract in January and there`s nothing we can do about that. Genuinely don`t think there`s anything the club could have done here.

We either keep him for the full season and lose him to a pre contract, or a club wants him enough to pay us a small fee to get him in January.

Good luck to him. One of those players that will have a decent future career above our level I think.

I have always had the same opinion of players since before even Jackie McNamara and a group of young lads in the 80’s. Enjoy watching them while they are here. If they are good, then they will be gone sooner than later.

to the points Roger makes, i wonder if the signing of Abdulai was in part for now but also a bit of future planning for when Mullen does leave whether its in January or in the summer.

He`s not had the best season, but he will be learning from some of the lessons he`s had. He`s one with potential for sure

I`d imagine that if this Park Bench AI tool is what our club has been bought to showcase, then one thing that will need to happen is that players who have been identified and brought here, then will need to go to clubs at a higher level. This will act as the proof that it can identify talent that will prosper and make money for clubs. I`d imagine any players that are any good will be moved on at the first opportunity

The reason it appears he’s not had a better season is purely down to the previous ultra negative tactics from McPake and Tidser.
It was a stroll for him passing about the back then without being tested but when Lennon came we started pushing up the park and he was certainly getting a bigger test in terms of 50/50’s and his reactions to them.

I personally think his overall game has improved with some questionable decision making thrown in but he is so far from the finished article which is a good thing at his stage of development.

This plus he looked better when he was better than anyone else in the team. Some new additions have been a leveller
