| 103. Author: Westies squint kicks Date: Sat 1st Aug 2026. 21:36 Worrying how with three centre backs we can look so open. Yes the result is adequate but the 1st half performance was a shocker. J.Tod looked lost and left SCH exposed too often. Robinson on the other side resorted to channel balls, a lot of the time because that’s all he had. Kearney I’ve yet to see what he brings, he gets himself in space and ultimately turns back into trouble. I’ve mentioned before this 3 centre backs leaves you light in the middle of the park, or when at home we end up playing horseshoe football with little options in attack. How many times are we going to start games with 3 x CB’s and finish with 2 before it sinks in the 3x CB’s isn’t effective in this league. Gilmour had no help ( much like the East Kilbride game), Corbally is he a centre midfielder, from his highlights I thought we’d signed an attacking type who might link the midfield and attack? On a day when the forwards were trying to feed off scraps we might just have to accept A.Tod is going to go missing in games and then produce something of quality. On a positive we’ve secured ourselves a top keeper for this league we’ve waited a while but he’s proven his worth and got us the point today. Given last season’s efforts expectations are high and ultimately why a lot are disappointed with that performance today. Reply |
| 104. Author: Higgys Mohawk Date: Sat 1st Aug 2026. 22:05 Looks like Inverness will be a tough place to go this season. They really should have been a couple of goals up at half time. Felt as though distribution from the back was pretty poor from Tod and Robinson, and Gilmour didn’t look his usual self in midfield so we struggled to get the ball forward and create anything. I did think Corbally looked alright again in possession. Andy Tod didn’t really do anything (other than almost score what would’ve been our goal of the season) - I think he’ll have games like this where he won’t do much but be involved in a goal or an assist. Kearney doesn’t go past his man often enough to be playing as a wing back, he always takes a touch then moves it inside - if he’s in a crossing position he can put in a decent ball, but I’d like to see him going past the full back more often. We looked better when we went to 442 and moved the ball wide. Cooper and Morrison had chances to win it. Particularly Cooper, expected him to score. Not sure what’s going on with Morrison, he had that spell where he scored 4 games in a row, got injured and since then has looked miles off. Perhaps a confidence player. Oxborough was brilliant in goal and easily our MOTM. Reply |

As has already been said, that was a hard watch, but I’ll take the point because other teams will drop more than that against ICT this season. On reflection, I’m struggling to remember a poorer performance under Lennon since the early part of last season. We were fortunate not to be three or four down by Half Time. Ox was unbelievable and was definitely my Man of the Match. Morrison has quite rightly taken a bit of flak, and I have to admit I’m struggling with him. I’ve said it before, but you see flashes of what he can offer, yet all too often he overdoes it or the end product just isn’t there. He certainly wasn’t the only one today. Kearney, Corbally, A. Tod, Rudden and Shaw were all below par as well, although Tod could have scored an absolute screamer in the First Half. We’ve got to be demanding more from those players. Once again, things changed when Kane came on. He’s such an important player for us, even now. He led the line superbly, and I can’t help but think that with A. Tod up front and Corbally in the No. 10 role, Kane would bring out the best in both of them. It’s late and pretty much everything has already been said, so I’ll just finish by saying I hope the fan who needed the ambulance is okay. At the time, where I was, it looked like it was the steward who had taken unwell, but I believe it was actually one of our supporters. The number of times he`ll complain at a team mate for not giving him the ball, while not having any end product himself is starting to piss me off. Fix the latter point, and earn the right to do the former. I think today was a great example of how the physicality of some players bailed us out of some back 3 performances last year. I don`t think we will ride the same luck this season and this needs to be addressed quickly. Amade was solid when he came on I thought. And I hope Kane has a niggle. Otherwise I will never be able to work out why Rudden starts ahead of him. Referee had an interesting game. Well done to the travelling fans today....some treck. Reply |

Your point on Morrison, there was 2 counter attacks where Corbally never gave him the ball when he was the most obvious player to give it too and Morrison was mouthing off at him. I said to my son that I thought Corbally never gave him it because he didn’t have faith in him doing the right thing. Might be wrong, it’s just the way it looked. Kane - Remember Kane was injured for a big part of pre-season and not in the friendly, EK or Dumbarton squads, so he MIGHT be slightly behind the rest of the squad with his fitness. He`s been a liability in a lot of games this season playing on that right side. Ox made some comfortable saves but poor poor finishing let Inverness down today. Harding and Donelly be a good pairing and go with a back four but Lennon prefers the five unfortunately. Reply |

Author: Stanza Date: Sun 2nd Aug 2026. 01:40 Buster_Brown A young man a couple of rows in front of me, who was with several of his mates, appeared to have an epileptic seizure, which was quite distressing for those with him. The First Aid folk were there reasonably quickly, and they managed to lay him down and cushion his head etc, which is about all they could do until the seizure stopped. I love players with confidence and passion, and he always seems a tiny bit away from having a massive impact which must be really frustrating for him. I`ve lost count of the number of attempts he`s had that have gone just the wrong side of the post. Hopefully he gets a wee bit better rub of the green and we can see the true him if he gets his head switched on. Completely with you on that Stanza..... hopefully the young fan got home ok and recovers quickly. Hopefully he hasn`t ended up with too much facial damage as I can imagine having a seizure between those seats was bloody awful. And if his mates are on here, and were distressed then here is a decent place to start learning more It is bloody awful that the only thing you want to do is step in and try and help your mate but, ironically,, it is probably the worst thing you can do. Hopefully in this case Richard Ashcroft is wrong and the drugs do work. Reply |
| 111. Author: Indiapar1 Date: Sun 2nd Aug 2026. 08:10 As has been said. We were lucky to come away with a point. At times we were really disjointed in midfield. We couldn`t hold the ball, passing was off, and ball control at times was poor. ICT played well, and had pace and purpose going forward. I thought we struggled to deal with their pace through the midfield and forward line. Our passing was poor at times, amd that only served to put our defence under more pressure. Ox definately won us a point. I personally think that Callum Morrison just needs to look up a bit more, or be more aware of players around him/look for an early pass. He creates space but tries to do too much and overruns the ball. When you have two or three players around you, we will have players in space so there should be passing options. There are times however when forward players aren`t up with play and so he doesn`t have passing options. I also thought we were very static up front for most of the game. G Wardrope Reply |

If that chance had fallen to Tod or Shaw, I`d have felt the complete opposite. He still has to earn his place at the moment, and I can`t see Lenny keeping him in and around the team if the performances don`t improve soon. This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it. Author: wee eck Date: Sun 2nd Aug 2026. 09:00 Morrison does seem to attract a lot of criticism and yet he was only on the park for the last 20 minutes or so which, by all accounts, was our best spell in the match. I`ve always thought we would get more from him if we played him out wide rather than as a support for the main striker. That`s where he seemed to be most effective for Falkirk. I think he`s a `confidence` player and his confidence is low at the moment. NL didn`t seem as despondent about the performance as some fans and, like most managers, draws some positives from the game. For instance, Ox`s performance just proved the wisdom of signing him and strengthened our defence compared with last season! Post Edited (Sun 02 Aug 09:01) Reply |

| 115. Author: BigTpar1986 Date: Sun 2nd Aug 2026. 09:43 Saying someone is a confidence player is bit of a null statement that needs to go away. Who is good when they lack confidence?? It’s as early in a season as you can get to have these concerns but the general consensus seems to be to agree the team isn’t quite set up to what looks right from a fans point of view. The starting team yesterday, which isn’t far off being the managers first choice of what’s available - don’t understand 3-4-3. If everyone on the pitch doesn’t work hard off the ball there will be problems! On the turn over after an attack breaking down the back 3 are constantly flat and the attacking centre is normally pressed to high up the park unless the players in the CF rotation at the time are Rudden or Kane. Teams like Thistlle, Livi and Ayr will have a field day with our CM being so exposed and a very imbalanced right side with Kearney and John Tod. There has to be some sort of argument where we play a 3-5-2 to have Gilmour and Amade on the park at the same time or at least start as 4-4-2 and sacrifice a striker. Reply |

Author: Ianoappar Date: Sun 2nd Aug 2026. 09:54 I look back to the Arbroath game where J Todd got a roasting by Dow in that position,and it was much of the same yesterday playing in the right of a three,defensively we lacked pace and thankfully the OX saved us from a doing. A great point at the end of the day but a very disappointing performance. Reply |

He has good movement and either creates space for himself or others. Sometimes for me he just tries to do a little too much and would be a real asset if he could play an earlier ball or find a quicker pass. That of course is very much dependent on whether our other forwards are up with the play. There are times when they are not. I dont think that Ollie Shaw or Zack Rudden played particularly well, and I agree our best spell was when CM and CK came on. G Wardrope Post Edited (Sun 02 Aug 10:08) Reply |

Author: wee eck Date: Sun 2nd Aug 2026. 10:08 I`m not a great fan of playing with 3 CBs mainly because it requires two exceptional players capable of attacking and defending in wide areas and such players are rare. However, it seems to be NL`s favoured way of playing and it can`t be that bad considering the overall improvement in performance achieved under his management so I suspect we`re stuck with it. He`s tweaked it in the past when required and I`m sure he`ll do so again. `If everyone on the pitch doesn`t work hard off the ball there will be problems` seems a bit of a `null statement` to me. We looked better when he was on because as someone mentioned above Kearney never took on a player or pushed up the park. It was Kane who made the biggest difference led the forward line very well and Amade held his own when Gilmour went off. Reply |
