Author: NMCmassive Date: Sun 2nd Aug 2026. 10:38 Could it be that sometimes it’s better to play 3 at the back and sometimes it’s better to play 4 depending on the opponent and how they’re set up and their players individual strengths and weaknesses? First league game of the season. ICT played us off the park in the first half but once we got a handle on the game we should have won it? We’ve got a good squad (that we might still add to) but we’re not light years in front of everyone else so we still need to set up right and perform to the best of our ability. ICT almost caught us out but we’ve still been able to nick a point. COYP Reply |

I still think we need a player to play RWB that has the power to go beyond the fullback. And another combative CM, we struggled in there and I’m not sure Gilmour was 100%. Overall though, it’s not a bad point. Another clean sheet and could’ve nicked it, so it’s not the worst start. Reply |

| 124. Author: GJS93 Date: Sun 2nd Aug 2026. 12:08 ^^ a quick, strong forward who gives an option/threat of running in behind would be useful. "It was Kane who made the biggest difference led the forward line very well" which wasnt difficult in comparison to the other forwards, the change of shape helped in some ways but if nothing sticks up front and you keep picking wrong options in midfield and out wide, it doesnt matter what shape you use. "How many times are we going to start games with 3 x CB’s and finish with 2 before it sinks in the 3x CB’s isn’t effective in this league." yet there were games they started with a back 4 and had to change it to a 3 which worked better. something is wrong though when it gets changed so many times though, its not as if the opposition arent scouted and analysed etc. "Be interesting to see the team line up/ set up against Ayr." probably Donnelly for Robinson then either J.Tod or Morrison depending if they change to a 4 from the start, the rest will be the same. id go Amade over Corbally but id be surprised if that happened. | 125. Author: Jeffery Date: Sun 2nd Aug 2026. 12:16 Quite a few posts here (including my own) about needing a more physical/combative option in midfield. How about trying a loan for Findlay Marshall from Aberdeen? He looked good against us on loan at Arbroath last season. I thought he was surprisingly robust despite being quite young. Reply |

A LB doesn’t have to work as hard off the ball as LWB, A traditional CB doesn’t have to work as hard RCB. A traditional CF doesn’t have to work as hard off the ball as CF in a 3-4-3. You must be a confidence poster. Reply |

| 129. Author: wee eck Date: Sun 2nd Aug 2026. 12:42 Why do you feel the need to call fellow-posters names? That suggests to me that you have some kind of problem. Reply |
| 130. Author: BigTpar1986 Date: Sun 2nd Aug 2026. 12:55 wee eck, Sun 2 Aug 12:42 That also sounds like a you problem. Passive aggressive posting is the name of your game and you go unchecked for it. I wish more people were calling you names or even better calling you out for being a pretentious little man. But again, if me using a different term of endearment for you is causing you that much stress, that’ll do for me. Reply |

| 132. Author: wee eck Date: Sun 2nd Aug 2026. 13:23 So, I`m `passive aggressive` but you say you enjoy causing me stress? What does that say about you? I can`t believe somebody can get so worked up about innocuous, anonymous posts on a provincial football club`s forum. I`ve never come across name-calling since I left primary school and that was usually from folk who had run out of sensible arguments. I have noticed that you don`t confine your personal comments to me though, so I suspect it`s a `you` problem. Reply |

Don’t let the facts get in the way of your wee narrative that you’re just a random poster who people unduly take umbrage with though Eric. Cheerio Reply |
