I`ve been saying we`ve been needing experienced players, leaders, organisers, people that know what to do to manage a game, by fair means or foul, for years. Until we get some in that have that winning mentality, players like the Rovers Scott Brown, Ashcroft at PT, even that Jason Holt who played well last week, we will be stuck in this division. Every signing we make doesn`t have to be 19 with potential re-sale value

"We have loads of players now but don`t seem to be able to fit 11 of them in any particular formation"

been that way for years.

"It will be back to 343 Next week though"

if it is it cannot be that front 3 and id add Rudden to it if Kane has done his hamstring, balance is totally wrong. people thinking that 442 is going to change things for the better didnt see the games last year when they started it and were just as bad and had to change, the same mistakes, poor play etc.

"Not sure why anyone thinks Lobban was good when he came on. Was at fault for the second goal and didn’t impress me at all.

Missed Cleal-Harding in defence."

agreed.

So far nothing has changed from last season. We look like a team that will challenge for a playoff spot nothing more.

We`ve got about 35 players on our books plus all these extra coaches bene etc. Instead of trying to unearth someone to sell on for a profit which rarely happens at this level, would have been better spending the wage budget on 22 players that can get us promoted then when your in SPL you can be Motherwell etc and trade players for money. We love talking about the project were building but in fact were not going anywhere.

Agree.

Need to start with a 4-4-2. Good rigid system and then change through the game if needed. Imo we have to many players now but it’s good competition in training.
Lennon has to make up his mind the strongest team to start week in/out.
And let’s remember consistency is a problem or we wouldn’t be in the Championship and playing higher.
I still think we will be up in the top 3 but Lennon needs to sit down with his staff and work out our strongest team to start every week.

I agree that we`re screaming out for an extra midfielder playing in front of Gilmour & Amade

I think Oyirworth could be it. He was patient and strong. Cant think of a pass that he made that was wasteful.

Outplayed and outpaced by a far superior team than us
today. 3 at the back doesn`t work.

Dunno why we haven’t signed any experience, Lennon even noted that he needed exactly that before signing a bunch of youngsters

It`s already been said and it`s true if we want to get out of this league,we need a bit more experienced signings, not the crop we are signing young with potential.
Lack of physicality is another issue,I wonder what Lennon thought of it,or is he going to sugarcoat it again ?

Worst I’ve seen us play in months of football today.
No cohesion
No end product.
Lost nearly every 50/50 ball until late on.
John Tod had his worst game I’ve seen him playing to date.
Amade was about our only saving grace.
How Cooper can’t get a start is beyond me.

All credit to Ross County today.
Nice to see Hammy come round the park before the match to applaud the fans.

Hard to believe we`re in this state at this stage of the season.
I mean, what identity have the team got, how are we meant to be playing ?

I know the formation but we`re not good at doing it, but he still persists.

I can`t get past seeing...start the game and keep it tight, (playing mainly 💩), we`ll change thing`s early 2nd half and go for it the last 10. That`s all it seems to be

That was garbage and embarrassing. The referee was a joke, inconsistent and frequently wrong. Not wrong because it was an interpretation, but wrong because did not follow the laws of the game. We are practising for the dashing white sergeant, fwd, back, side ,side back fwd, side back
I dont understand why we keep going wide to players who cant beat the full back and also can`t get a cross in, and on the rare times we do get a cross in it`s usually awful.
This was bothering kane in the first half he was getting v cross that no ball down the middle. What happened to a ball to the front, who the lays of to the midfield who are supposed have moved into space, but dont.
Our golden boy Andy Todd. Does not contribute enough, nutmegged the defender first half the hit it within the keepers reach and the header sitter in the second half oh dear, he must not be an auto start. He needs to up his work rate and strengthen up. And morrison well, runs lots but adds no value, I would loan him out to a Sunday league team.
Neli lennon, this needs to be sorted or we are going to be relegation candidates.

Morrison provided the cross for Andy Tods sitter. This narrative that he provides nothing is just false. Provided more than Fraser.

How was Lobban at fault for 2nd goal? Where was the centre halves? Thats right, John Tod was at the half way line losing the initial challenge for the ball.

You know it’s bad when I agree with one of da no 1’s posts.

Some have been dreadful so far this season.

I’d wager Abdulai in for John tod and Allan in for Andrew Todd but sitting a bit deeper and we’ll be so much better with movement in midfield and pace and power.

Let’s be honest apart from finishing and having potential Andrew Tod is not a championship level footballer in every other aspect of his game and yet we persevere with him in such an important position so we’re a man down most of the time. His brother has taken a step back from even last season.

Agree on not having an identity, Lennon married to a system that doesn’t work or suit half players we have signed. We’ll improve I’m sure as we bring in the new guys but hard going if they are hamstrung by how we’re set up.

The post below replying to me is by one of .nets finest champions of mediocrity!

Exactly. I said after the game against Ayr what are we actually trying to achieve? Apart from racking up millions of debt.

Lobban 100% at fault for the goal. His man runs off him, gets space and scores.

John Tod gets a lot of criticism, but he was better than Robinson today IMO.

Think this is very harsh on Morrison.
Had a couple of decent efforts and crosses today..

His mans ran into a massive space left by John Tod being halfway up the park and miles off winning the initial contact….

Thistle haven`t loaded their squad up with raw youngsters, they want out this league.
Our owners seem desperate to bring them in for resale value, but this is the wrong time and league to be doing it.
Lennon could be happy with it or frustrated with, we`ll never know.

he just signed a new contract, i think that answers that question......

couple of quotes from Lennon
“I’ve got problems both ends of the pitch at the minute and it’s been rankling with me since the start of the season,”
“Maybe it’s because there’s a turnover of players and new players coming in and bedding in.
“But that performance is unacceptable. No question.
“I apologise to the supporters for that.
“But I have to find the solutions and it’s both ends of the pitch.
“It’s a punch in the face and it’s a big opportunity missed.
“We only have ourselves to blame. Nobody else. Not the referee, not the opposition. We only have ourselves to blame.”

maybe its the wrong players that dont add to what was already here and a different type/quality was needed, that goes back beyond this summer too.

Tod was also playing right centre half rather than left centre half, where he played so well in the first half of last season. Thought he was better than some today.

My second time seeing Donnelly today and I`m yet to be convinced he`s any better than Davidson or Sam Young. He didn`t win enough headers and looked questionable chasing back for me.

I look forward to Abdullai coming back.
