122. Author: Polt Date: Sat 22nd Aug 2026. 18:43 Kind of deflated. Showing same signs as last season. I fear it’s going to be a mixed bag until late on. The late window signings are a nightmare really wish we could get a head start on recruitment for once. Partick registered majority of theirs on first day of window. I’m not pressing panic button obviously but hate the fact the early results punish us at the end of the season. We had to fight for 4th last season and we only started playing well after the Hibs win. I’m confident in NL’s ability we just need that to transfer into goals and points. I have a feeling Morrison (who I am not the greatest fan of) and A Tod will be our key partnership. ![]() Reply

And that comes down to quality" couple of selected lines....the usual weekly comment about final ball and finishing...as for quality, they dont have it and no amount of coaching/training will change that. going back to another one about too nice in each box, last week it was lacking pace at the back....you signed/re-signed all these guys, you pick the side then seem surprised the same things keep happening! | 125. Author: The Boss Date: Sat 22nd Aug 2026. 18:56 Who’s signing the players though? Is it Lennon or Colquhoun? Whoever it is hasn’t got a clue about what’s needed to get out of this league. I like black and white (dreaming of black and white) You like black and white Run run away Reply |
126. Author: Berry Date: Sat 22nd Aug 2026. 19:07 Which signings have we made that have really been that bad? Allan Oyirworth - great player Oxborough - great keeper Lobban - looks good SCH - looks solid Donnelly is alright Adam’s - not really had enough minutes to rate One could argue Dibaga hasn’t had best of starts but back up keeper and Robinson seems a bit restrictive in terms of ability but other than that? Shaw probably the one stand out but got to feel he’ll come good at some point. Think it’s more the players from the previous season tbh: Both Tod’s have been really poor Morrison poor Gilmour has started really poor Kearney has been poor Rudden when he’s been on has been poor Reply

130. Author: Buster_Brown Date: Sat 22nd Aug 2026. 19:34 Not long home and I’m absolutely raging. First things first though, fair play to Livi. They deserved to win in the end and, if we’re being honest, it could have been 3 or 4. They had one cleared off the line, should probably have had a penalty and somehow missed an open goal after hitting the bar from the free kick. I’m not sure what Prior did to get MOTM, but he’ll never have an easier clean sheet and MOTM combo. The frustrating thing is that I thought we were tremendous on the ball in the first half. We seem to have signed a group of really technically gifted footballers and, at times, the build up play looked Premiership level. Oyirwoth looks some addition and was a class above at times. The cross field passing from him and Amade was superb. Tod was having his best game in a long time, Morrison looked good, Abdulai was strolling about winning everything, C-H looked unfazed and drove forward with the ball, while Lobban looks another cracking addition and gave us the same sort of energy on the right that Fraser gives us on the left. I kept thinking, “Once we score, that’ll be it.” And therein lies the problem. For all the neat, tidy, technical footballers we have, who actually grabs the game by the scruff of the neck? Who creates something out of nothing? Who unlocks a defence? Livi dug in, waited for their opportunity and took it. Fair play to Van Hoeven as well, I thought he looked good and for the goal he tied our defence in knots before curling it past Ox. At Half Time I still thought we’d be ok if we came out and went up a gear. Personally, I’d have taken Shaw off then. I appreciate the service into him wasn’t great, but Kabongolo had him in his pocket and Shaw didn’t seem to have an answer. At least Kane, Adams or Rudden would have battled physically with him and maybe got some joy. Of the new signings, Goalkeepers aside, Shaw is probably the first one I’m starting to have doubts about. I’m not writing him off after 3 league games and a few cup appearance, but at the moment I’m struggling to see what he offers us as the starting Striker. I’m not exactly Rudden’s biggest fan either, but I’m just not seeing it with Shaw yet. Anyway, I expected us to come flying out in the second half. Far from it. If anyone went up a gear, it was Livingston. They suddenly looked like the side expected to challenge for the title and we struggled badly. We couldn’t get on the ball and, when we did, we were poor with it. I won’t criticise the effort. We huffed, puffed, chased and battled, but once again we lacked someone capable of producing that bit of creativity to unlock a defence. Lennon can point to the two decent saves from Oyirwoth, but it feels like the same issue we’ve seen against St Mirren, ICT, Ayr and, according to my son, Ross County. We just don’t create enough clear cut chances. As Lennon became increasingly desperate, understandably, I also thought some of the deficiencies in the squad became more obvious. Cooper replaced Tod but offered very little. I know Josh has that “impact” in his locker, but he still looks like a League One player to me. Then Adams and Rudden replaced Bray and Shaw on 72 minutes (rather than at Half Time as I’d hoped). Rudden ran about, gave us some much needed energy and certainly couldn’t be faulted for effort, but again I’m left wondering what the answer is there. Adams worked hard too and at least got on the ball and drove us up the park a couple of times. But neither of them had any real supply. Neither did Kane when he eventually came on. Quite frankly, the Second Half started poorly, gradually became p*sh and finished very p*sh. Some of that was obviously because we were chasing the game, but some of it was because Livingston were simply better. They could easily have made the scoreline embarrassing. The drive home was pretty quiet and my son eventually asked, “What are you thinking, Dad?” Truthfully? I don’t know. On one hand, I genuinely think we’ve improved the squad. There’s no TOB, Hamilton, Bene etc anymore, technically their replacements look better. Individually, I think we have improved… yet somehow, as a team, we’re currently playing worse. Then I think back to that First Half and find myself thinking, “When this clicks, we’re going to be formidable.” But will it click? Do we actually have that creative player who can make it click? That’s the bit I’m beginning to question. So, in short, I genuinely don’t know what to think. What I do know is that it’s been a dreadful start to the season. Money has been spent, the squad has been strengthened and the pressure is now on Lennon to find the solution, and find it quickly. If the Wee Team win on Friday, we’re 8 points off the top already. Even in a league as unpredictable as the Championship, that’s a hell of a gap to be trying to claw back this early. Plenty of time to turn it around, but we need to start seeing signs of it soon. 🇾🇪 Loving You, Is In My DNA Reply
131. Author: Indiapar1 Date: Sat 22nd Aug 2026. 19:35 I don`t see RR as a must win, more we need to win it to keep in touch with the leaderboard. There are alot of points still to play for but St J last season got off to a good start and kept going. The forwards need to start to score goals or at least hit the target. Our best opportunities fell to Oyirwoth and he was playing in midfield. He looks a player. The crosses are going in but in alot of cases it felt a bit like we were just crossing and hoping rather than playing with a bit of purpose. I also think that as the opposition pack the box, we need to be a threat from outside the box or from the edge of the box. Just have to plug away and try and be more purposeful and clinical in front of goal. G Wardrope Reply
132. Author: wee eck Date: Sat 22nd Aug 2026. 19:41 If, as NL claims, their goalie won MOM, we must have been doing something right. I recall him having several outstanding saves in the first half and one in the second but I can`t recall whether any were `sitters`. According to the BBC he had seven saves and Ox only had one. We had 14 shots (7 on target) and they had 11 (4). So it`s fine margins rather than us being way off the pace. The first goal was a poor one to lose and a double whammy in that it was a kick in the teeth for us but also gave them a massive boost as evidenced by their start to the second half. We certainly faded after that and the subs smacked of desperation rather being a calculated attempt to turn the game. For Friday I`d be tempted to make as few changes as possible. Kane for Shaw probably and maybe find a place for Freddie Turley if NL says we`re too nice. Trawling through the comments on the thread I noted one question - `How did Allan do?` - presumably from someone who wasn`t actually at the game. It didn`t stop him criticising the team selection or the signings though. Can you guess who it was, boys and girls? Reply
133. Author: Clapham Par Date: Sat 22nd Aug 2026. 20:09 It`s a strange one Wee Eck. I was like the commentary team and Buster above in being amazed the Livi goalie was their MOM. There`s many on here clearly saw the game and felt we ended up well beaten. I looked at the stats at half time and saw the amount of shots and on-target shots they reported and was concerned I`d had senior lapse and zoned out for portions of the game :-) as I couldn`t remember that many (Amade`s shot helped over the bar was one that I saw). Oyirworth`s bicycle kick (?) was a good save second half but other than that were there many outstanding saves? I guess so if he was MOM but I didn`t come away thinking we`d been hard done by with the final score. More concrened it could and should have been more with the sitters they missed second half. Hopefully our rub of the green with all these shots is due next game. Reply
134. Author: Hoolie Date: Sat 22nd Aug 2026. 20:36 No wonder Falkirk fans laughed when we signed Morrison…he’s a very average football player that runs about and does nothing. Shaw on the other hand is a box finisher but if he doesn’t get the service then he won’t score.!! It’s not rocket science and we need to stat 4-4-2 against Raith.. Reply

136. Author: General Zod Date: Sat 22nd Aug 2026. 20:42 Morrison came to us and looked lively but got injured not long after that. He has 100% lost a bit of pace since returning which was one of his main attributes. I thought he done decent today in fairness to him. Reply
| 137. Author: Hoolie Date: Sat 22nd Aug 2026. 20:50 Morrison is a waste of talent.. it just depends when he in the mood to play football..and I hate to admit it every Falkirk fan stated this and they are spot on..he is the most frustrating player to watch and can easily do more..he is a lazy player or suddenly has an injury?? | 138. Author: Berkey Date: Sat 22nd Aug 2026. 21:00 I dunno hoolie, sometimes it just depends how physical the player he is up against is as if he’s up against a decent defender they just ease him out of it all the time as Morrison is too small. A front 3 of Morrison, Tod and shaw is as lightweight as it gets. The post below replying to me is by one of .nets finest champions of mediocrity! Reply |
139. Author: Indiapar1 Date: Sat 22nd Aug 2026. 21:06 I don`t doubt Callum Morrisons committment and effort. I think he just needs to be a bit more efficient with the ball. He has been a bit unlucky with a couple of efforts over the last few games. At least he has been prepared to shoot at goal when the chance arises. He has been struggling to beat his man, but that wasnt the issue today. I am not sure why we are ineffective in front of goal, ie forwatds not taking up the right positions, quality of ball into the box, one pass too many, etc. Oyirwoth had our best opportunities and he is a midfielder so A Tod, K Bray, and O Shaw and C Morrison not producing the goods? Not sure. These players should be able to produce 2 or 3 goals amongst them in a game. Alfons is such a good passer of the ball but can`t hit the target when he has a pop at goal. He is capable of much better and should be good for 8-10 goals a season with the positions he takes up on the edge of the box. Maybe next week it will come together. G Wardrope Reply
