The fact this form of termination is available up to 26 weeks is horrific and people not allowed to conduct private prayer is beyond Orwellian. The purpose of this authoritarian move is control, like all despotic regimes they need total compliance and anyone not conforming to be ostracised and called names. | 11. Author: veteraneastender Date: Thu 20th Feb 2025. 16:29 The relevant legislation went through various stages of the political determination debate etc. over a relatively long period of time. Both sides had the opportunity to make persuasive arguements and (if memory serves) it went to unsuccessful appeal by the losing faction. I`m against abortion as retrospective birth control - however once the Law is in place the objectors need to respect it. The police are in a classic no win situation - damned if they do, and damned if they don`t. Had they not acted that would have enboldened those few protestors to push their luck a wee bit more to see how far they could go. Handcuffing the old lady seems a bit OTT - however I believe it`s standard procedure for anybody formally arrested. Post Edited (Thu 20 Feb 16:31) Reply |

| 18. Author: buffy Date: Thu 20th Feb 2025. 18:33 I think you’ve confused the word abortion with contraception VEE. An abortion is when a woman is already pregnant. It is not a form of birth control nor has it ever been used as such. Birth control and conception control are the same thing. They help to prevent pregnancy; they don’t halt a pregnancy. Retrospective birth control is emergency contraception ie the morning after pill. This is used when normal birth control hasn’t worked ie a condom has split / the woman has been unwell from her usual birth control and feels at risk of pregnancy. Author: Dave_1885 Date: Thu 20th Feb 2025. 20:13 Imagine living in a world where people get upset about other people choosing what to do with their own bodies because someone wrote in a book one day that it was bad…….. People get abortions for plenty of reasons. The majority of the time it’s a better option than if the foetus develops and is born into a bad/unwanted situation. The people protesting should be put in a position, where they must take said baby themself, feed, clothe, care and pay for the child for 18 years, then also add pay/support for the mental hurt of the mother as well. Let’s see how many of them take on the challenge. Reply |
