"People get abortions for plenty of reasons."

Indeed, including in many cases where it solves a problem which could and should have been avoided.

Quite possibly, circumstances can change in life though, maybe try not being so crass in how you put it across until you are in that persons shoes though 👍🏻

You’re still not getting it VEE, nor are you admitting you got it wrong.

An abortion is a medical procedure that ends a pregnancy by removing or expelling the embryo or foetus. It can be performed using medicine or surgery.

For what feels like the hundredth time, an abortion is NOT a form of birth control. It can only be done AFTER conception.

People need to be responsible for their own actions - so if the shoe fits due to lack of that at the appropriate time ?

Buffy - enough of the lectures, please.

I fully and completely understand the medical aspects etc.

For some/many it is a convenient "get out of jail card" subsequent to their inability to prevent conception.

It is performed before birth, post conception - therefore it must be a form of birth control in the literal sense of the word.

I`m with VEE on this, it is birth control. It`s stopping a birth. Literally, it is birth control

“Many” - come on, if you’re going to claim this then back it up with stat and facts?

Its genuinely mind boggling the narrow mindedness is staggering. You can certainly ascertain your age from your mindset anyway!

You do know that contraception isn’t a 100% science eh? You do know contraception doesn’t prevent r@pe and sexual assault eh? You do know contraception doesn’t prevent people living on the poverty line eh?

That’s not what birth control means. Birth control is a term used for contraception.

You really don’t.

No contraception is 100% effective. Not even abstinence. See Dave’s post about rape, also. “Get out of jail card” is unbelievably crass and shows contempt to women who can find themselves in a position you can’t even begin to imagine.

It is performed before birth, post conception - therefore it must be a form of birth control in the literal sense of the word

It is not birth control. The medical (and non medical) terminology for birth control is contraception ie to prevent pregnancy.

Lecture? You’re the one telling a woman what reproductive health means!

Baffling that folk think women(with or without discussion with a man) are genuinely choosing abortions over contraceptive methods.

Clearly there are diverging opinions, this has been futile.

The "choice" in these case (and it takes two to tango here) is the choice to act irresponsibly, possibly under the influence of alcohol or drugs or something even more powerful....sexual passion.

Tell that to the young woman who through no fault of her own has fallen pregnant after being raped as she walked home from college/work/a night out pretty sure she never woke up that morning and thought to herself you know what I think I’ll go out and get raped today

I hope they put the cuffs on the old cow extra tight to the point where it hurt she knows the law so it’s a classic example of **** around and find out

Your scenario is about as far away from mine of consenting adults in the height of passion that is possible.

Would you still be against abortion in that scenario tho?

It`s like the Daily Mail on here where people genuinely believe people choose abortions over condoms or the pill.

The people who protest outside the clinics are not kindhearted souls, they are evil bastards who should not be associated with the church.

First of all congratulations on reigning it in, usually when an overgeneralisation is presented the victim has all kinds of intersections like disability or on some spectrum, an addict deaf in one eye etc, etc.

But no, I`m not playing strawman...for your poor anecdotal girl is someone you are just throwing into the vanguard misdirect the whole irresponsible behaviour discussion.

Couldn`t help myself responding again

"No contraception is 100% effective. Not even abstinence."

Yes to the first part - the second is simply untrue.
